Two digit subtraction with regrouping worksheets make more sense when children can see the trade. Fantasticamos Regrouping Rangers: The Crystal Cavern Rescue helps Grade 2 learners rename one ten as ten ones, subtract within 100, and explain why the total stays the same.
Try the teaching style first: Download the free six-page sample. It includes the cover, grown-up guidance, a before/after trade lesson, a subtraction example, guided practice and selected answers. Original nonconsecutive page numbers are retained; this is a preview, not the complete paid bundle.
What is inside the download?
Two matching 32-page PDFs: one premium color edition and one white-background low-ink edition. The editions contain the same 32 unique pages, in the same order. Includes 63 numbered activities, readiness checks, four missions, worked models, guided and independent practice, error explanations, one reusable trade mat, 12 cut-apart rescue cards, a design challenge, review, progress log, certificate and three answer-guide pages. Customer printing notes and a one-household license are also included.
Four missions, one clear skill
Bundle Bridge builds tens-and-ones understanding. Trade Tunnel explains renaming and subtraction, including a starting number with zero ones. Echo Chamber connects models to written columns and catches common mistakes. Lantern Lift applies the skill to taking-away and comparison stories and checks answers with addition.
Who is this for?
Suggested Grade 2, or a learner at that readiness level who can read two-digit numbers, identify tens and ones, and subtract within 20 with support. Adults may read the instructions aloud. The illustrated characters are story guides; their ages do not define the target grade.
How do we use it?
Choose a short 10-15-minute session. Begin with a model, ask the child to explain one trade, then try a practice page. Use a pencil and optional counters or base-ten blocks. An adult cuts the game cards. There is no timer and no device or account required. Keep answer pages 30-32 with the adult.
What does it cover, and what is excluded?
This focused supplement covers two-digit subtraction within 100 with and without one trade, zero starting ones, simple take-away and comparison problems, and addition checks. It does not teach a full addition curriculum, three-digit subtraction, negative answers, or repeated regrouping across zeros. It supports part of Grade 2 place-value subtraction learning; it is not a complete standards course.

Questions parents ask
Are answers included? Yes. Exact answers and criteria for drawings and invented problems are on pages 30-32.
Is the full pack free? No. The six-page sample is free; the full 32-page learning sequence is the paid product.
Do I need blocks? No. Learners can draw tens rods and ones squares. Counters or blocks are optional.
Is low-ink just grayscale? No. It uses white backgrounds, outlined models and purpose-made line art with the same tasks and answers.
Can my younger child use it? Readiness matters more than age. Check the prerequisites and work with an adult; it is designed for Grade 2 learning.
Does it include subtraction from 100? No. Starting numbers are at most 99; the focus is two-digit subtraction with a single trade.
Can I share it with a co-op? The purchase license covers one household. Contact Blogging4Adventure for other permissions.
Can I print it again? Yes, for your own household. Printing one page at a time is fine.
