Try it first: Download the FREE six-page sample with sample answers. It contains selected original pages plus a separate guide; retained page numbers are intentional. The complete pack is a separate paid digital product.
What is included?
Receive 30 unique pages in two matching editions: a 30-page premium color PDF and a 30-page white-background low-ink PDF. Both have the same learning sequence, activity IDs, questions and answers. You do not need to print both. The customer ZIP also includes opening/printing instructions and a one-household license.
Inside: parent guidance, readiness warm-up, a four-mission reference tool, four illustrated worked lessons, guided and independent practice, short passages, explanation and error checks, a poster project, 12 reusable sorting cards and mats, a checking notebook, a final check, progress certificate and complete answers with reasons or open-response criteria. There are 62 numbered answer-bearing activities, including the game cards and project.
Four fairground missions
Lantern Gate: distinguish true, checkable information from opinions. Story Stall: return to the passage for evidence. Sign Garden: separate information from praise and correct a false count. Poster Pavilion: write and label a fact and an opinion.

Reasoning comes first
A statement does not become a fact because it includes a number. An opinion does not need the words “I think.” A false count is a claim to correct, rather than an opinion by default. The teaching sequence makes those distinctions explicit. Facts in fictional passages are checked against what is true within the given story.

Who is it for?
Designed for Grade 2 learners who understand simple sentences and short paragraphs. An adult may read aloud or write dictated responses. This is a focused comprehension supplement, rather than a decodable phonics program, complete reading curriculum or timed test. The characters’ ages do not define the target grade.
How do we use it?
Try a flexible 10–15-minute session: show a worked example, try the next task together, then let the learner explain a choice. Use a pencil and optional crayons. An adult handles scissors for cards, or use the point-and-sort alternative. Print US Letter, portrait, Actual Size / 100%, with single-sided cards. Keep the answer pages with the adult.

Common questions
Are answers included? Yes. The adult key supplies classifications, evidence, reasons and acceptable alternatives or criteria for all numbered tasks.
Is low ink just a grayscale copy? No. It uses white pages, black text, outline art and clear labels. Answers never depend on color.

Is this interactive? These are static printable PDFs. The sorting game is a hands-on paper activity, not a browser app.
What is the license? One household. Print for your household’s members. Classroom, co-op or other group use requires separate permission. Do not redistribute the full files.
Is anything shipped? No. This is a digital download; paper, pencils and optional craft supplies are not included.
Can I inspect it before buying? Yes. Open the free six-page sample to see a teaching page, practice, a misconception check and sample answer guidance.
