By Alice
Yesterday, Fluffernutter and I built a Truth-Fort.
Not a regular fort. Oh no no no. This one was made of Bible pillows, honesty bricks, and a glitter-glue moat that kept out fib-monsters. We even hung up a sign that said: “Only Truth-Speakers May Enter. Bunny Password Required.”
But then—dun dun DUNNN!—the Royal Banana Guard (aka Bash, our dog, wearing a party hat) started barking at the television because someone on it said something sooo twisty-wrong, it made Fluffernutter’s ears go floppy. I said, “That’s not true! That’s banana-sauce!”
Fluffernutter blinked very slowly and whispered,
“Not everyone listens to truth, Alice. Even Paul warned about tricky times like this.”
And that’s when I remembered what Yaya told us:
That Paul, the Bible explorer guy with super brave sandals, once wrote a very serious letter to his friend Timothy. He said there’d be people who tell lies and act mean and get all puffed up like a marshmallow wearing sunglasses. People who pretend to follow Jesus but don’t let His love fill their hearts.
But guess what? Paul didn’t just send a warning—he gave us a sparkly map for standing strong. Like, super strong. Like, bunny-tail-in-the-wind strong!
So today, Fluffernutter and I are reading that part in 2 Timothy together—under our Truth-Fort, with a flashlight and two gingerbread shields—because we wanna learn how to keep our hearts full of Jesus-love, even when the world gets noisy or confusing.
Wanna come too?
Bring your teacup (just in case it has a secret Bible code inside), and let’s hop through the verses together. 💖📖🐇

💥 What Are Perilous Times (and Do They Involve Pickles?) 🥒📖
So, Paul told Timothy something super serious:
“In the last days, perilous times shall come.” — 2 Timothy 3:1
At first, I thought “perilous” meant stepping on LEGOs in the dark. Or maybe facing a dragon made of broccoli. But then Yaya explained with her cozy-teacup voice:
“Perilous times mean dangerous days—not just where things go BOOM, but when hearts forget God’s truth and chase sparkly lies instead.”
Whoa.
Even Fluffernutter gasped (very politely).
We peeked out from our Bible pillow fort and noticed how sometimes people care more about me-me-me than we-we-we. Daddy calls that “when the world flips its love compass the wrong way.”
He said,
“These hard times remind us just how much the world needs God’s love and light.”
Kinda like needing a flashlight when the power goes out, right?
Ariel, being her usual brainy-pondering self, asked,
“Wait, so perilous times are tricky for our faith too?”
Daddy nodded with his thinky face and said,
“Yes, sweetheart. There’ll be lies and distractions. But we’re called to stand firm in God’s Word, like anchors in a storm.”
Anchors! I imagined faith-anchors made of rainbow steel with jellybean stickers.
So… perilous doesn’t just mean uh-oh times. It means we have to choose to shine bright with God’s truth—even when things get confusing or stormy.
That’s why we’re reading this part of the Bible today. Because God doesn’t just warn us—He equips us. With love. With Scripture. With brave hearts. And maybe with bunny-bravery too. 🐰✨
💭 What About You?
Can you think of someone who needs extra love and truth this week?
Have you ever felt confused about what’s true and what’s not?
What helps you stand strong when things feel a little upside-down?

💔 Bubblegum Lies and God’s Real Joy 🍬📖
Paul had some super serious words in the Bible—he said that in the last days, some people would act like they’re the main character in every story. 😲
“Lovers of pleasure more than lovers of God.” — 2 Timothy 3:4
When I first heard that, I asked Fluffernutter,
“Wait… do they eat too much dessert or something?”
Yaya giggled and explained gently,
“Paul isn’t just talking about their actions—he’s warning us about their hearts. People who only care about themselves can get lost in their own puffed-up pride and forget what really matters.”
That made me pause. Even I sometimes want the last cookie and the biggest sticker and the sparkly crown in pretend church. 😅
Ariel, who always has her thinking eyebrows ready, said,
“So… they care more about feeling good than doing good?”
Daddy nodded.
“Exactly. Real joy doesn’t come from doing whatever feels nice. It comes from following God’s truth—even when it’s hard or un-sprinkly.”
He added something super important that I wrote in my Bunny Notebook:
“Fleeting fun fades. But faith fills you up forever.”
Yaya smiled her wise smile and said,
“We all face those moments when we want what we want. But God helps us choose better—His way.”
So we all sat quiet for a second. Even Bash (our Schnauzer) stopped chasing his tail. Because it’s true: sometimes loving ourselves too much makes it harder to love God well.
But guess what? The more we read God’s Word, the more our hearts grow strong like treehouse roots, holding us steady when the world gets wobbly.
🌟 What Do You Think?
Can you think of a Bible verse that helps you remember what real joy looks like?
Have you ever wanted something soooo badly you forgot what was right?
What helps you choose God’s way—even when it’s the harder path?

🕵️♀️ Spotting Tricky Teachers (a.k.a. Truth Goggles Required!) 👓📖
So Paul gave Timothy a super serious sparkle-alert in 2 Timothy 3:5:
“Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.”
Wait—what?! 🌀 That sounds like wearing a Bible costume but forgetting the actual Bible inside!
Daddy explained it like this:
“False teachers might look like they love God, but their words and actions take people the wrong direction.”
Like a treasure map that leads to an empty cereal box instead of chocolate coins.
Yaya nodded and said something very wise (as usual):
“That’s why we always check everything we hear with God’s Word. If it doesn’t match the Bible, then it’s not true. The Bible is our measuring stick for truth!”
I whispered to Fluffernutter,
“Measuring stick? Do we bonk false teachers with it?!”
He said no. Politely.
Ariel asked with her curious squinty eyes,
“So, we should only listen to people who follow God’s truth?”
Daddy smiled and said:
“Yes, but we also need to pray for discernment. That means asking God for wisdom to see clearly—like wearing truth goggles.”
I imagined a sparkly pair of Bible Glasses that beep when something sounds fishy. 🐟
Yaya added,
“Faith is a growing journey. The more we learn from God’s Word, the easier it becomes to spot what’s real and what’s just pretend.”
That made me feel brave. Because I might be small, but when I put on my truth goggles (and maybe my jellybean armor), I can stand strong in what’s really real.

🪨 God’s Truth Is the Rock That Doesn’t Wiggle 🌊🐰
Wanna know something super comforting?
Paul told Timothy that even if false teachers look all fancy and important for a little while, their sneaky tricks won’t last. In 2 Timothy 3:9, Paul wrote:
“But they will not get very far because their folly will be clear to everyone.”
Phew! That means God’s truth always wins—like the final jellybean in a treasure hunt. 🍬🎉
Yaya said something soft and warm (like a blanket hug):
“Even when lies seem convincing, God’s truth will always stand. We can trust Him to show us what’s real.”
Fluffernutter nodded so seriously I thought maybe he was a secret prophet in a bunny suit.
Ariel, always thinking with her heart, asked,
“So… we don’t need to be scared of false teachers?”
Daddy smiled all crinkly-eyed and replied:
“Exactly. Our job is to stay faithful and trust God’s promises. His truth is like a rock—when life gets splashy and stormy, He keeps us steady.”
That made me imagine a GIANT sparkly rock with God’s name carved in it, and all of us standing on top—holding hands, wearing rain boots, and laughing while the waves whoosh below.
Because no matter how many twisty ideas swirl around in the world, God’s truth doesn’t get soggy. It stays strong. Always.
So how do we grow that kind of unshakable faith?
We pray. We read our Bibles. We snuggle close to truth-tellers like Yaya. We talk to Jesus like He’s right beside us on the swing. And we remember—every time the world gets confusing—that God is never confused.
💬 Let’s Wonder Together:
How can we help our friends know God’s truth too?
What’s a time you felt unsure, but trusted God anyway?
What’s your “truth rock”? (A favorite Bible verse, a song, a person who points you to Jesus?)

🐰✨ Alice’s Super Secret (Not-So-Secret) Plan to Stand Firm in God’s Truth 📖💖
Okay, so after reading about perilous times, tricky teachers, and how God’s truth is like a rock that never wobbles…
I made a bunny-approved battle plan to help me stand firm in my faith—even if the world gets jellybean-wobbly!
1️⃣ Read My Bible Every Day (Even If It’s Upside Down)
Fluffernutter and I decided we’ll open our Bible every single day. Even if we only read a teeny-tiny verse or color in our verse journal, we’re lighting our path with God’s Word.
“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” — Psalm 119:105
Like a flashlight during a thunderstorm, God’s Word helps me know which way to hop. 📚🐾
2️⃣ Ask ALL the Questions (Even Silly Ones Like “Does Jesus Like Pickles?”)
Sometimes I hear stuff that sounds… hmm… squishy.
So I’m gonna ask questions! Yaya says asking is how we learn, and Daddy says no question is too tiny if it helps us understand the Bible better. I might even ask things like:
“Was Paul ever scared in a storm?”
“What’s the opposite of selfishness?”
“Does ‘discernment’ mean a sandwich with wisdom in it?”
Asking helps grow my faith and gives Fluffernutter an excuse to look very wise and nod a lot. 🙃📘
3️⃣ Be a Lightbulb Bunny
I wanna shine God’s love through my words, giggles, hugs, and even my lunchbox notes. I’ll try to:
- Share my favorite Bible verses
- Help friends when they’re confused
- Be kind even when I’m grumpy or glitter-sticky
Because even tiny lights can brighten big places. 💡🌟
💬 What’s Your Stand-Firm Plan?
- What’s a verse that helps you stay strong in your faith?
- Who do you talk to when you’re confused about God stuff?
- How do you shine God’s truth to your friends and family?

✨ Craft Time: Make Your Own Discernment Lantern! 🏮💖
Fluffernutter and I were thinking… sometimes the world feels a teensy bit confusing, like trying to read your Bible upside-down while spinning in a tutu. 😵💫
So we made something super special to help our hearts glow with discernment—a Discernment Lantern! It’s our way of remembering to stand firm in God’s truth, even when the world gets shadowy.
Wanna make one too?
🧺 What You’ll Need:
- 1 clear jar (mason jars or plastic work great!)
- 1 battery-operated tea light or a glow stick
- Paper (colorful is fun!)
- Markers or gel pens (glitter = bonus points!)
- Tape or glue
- Optional: stickers, ribbon, stars, hearts, or tiny bunny drawings
🛠️ How to Do It:
- Write truthy words on paper strips like:
- “Discernment”
- “Faithfulness”
- “Truth”
- “God’s Word”
- Add your favorite Bible verse about standing firm—like:
“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” — Psalm 119:105
- Tape or glue your words around the jar like a truthy hug.
- Pop your tea light or glow stick inside.
- Decorate like a disciple! Add stickers, doodles, stars, or bunny ears if you’re feeling extra creative.
🌟 Why This Matters:
Your Discernment Lantern is more than just a shiny jar—it’s a reminder that God’s truth helps us see clearly, even when everything around us feels foggy. It’s your little light of love and clarity, glowing with courage and Scripture!
Let’s be lights in the darkness, shining with truth, love, and bunny-sized boldness. 🐰💡
💬 Let’s Think & Shine:
- What does discernment mean to you?
- How can your lantern help you make wise choices this week?
- Where will you keep your lantern to remind you to stand firm in faith?

🐰💡 A Bunny Prayer for Discernment and Strength ✨📖
Last night, Mr. Fluffernutter and I built a blanket chapel under the dining room table. We brought our Bible, a flashlight, and one marshmallow (because obviously, marshmallows help with holy thoughts).
Then we prayed this together—with our eyes closed and our paws folded:
“Dear Jesus,
Thank You for warning us about tricky times and for giving us Your Word to light our path—just like Psalm 119:105 says. In the middle of all the noise and mixed-up messages, help us listen closely to Your voice. Teach us to stand firm in Your truth, even when things around us feel swirly or confusing.
Give us super sparkly discernment, like wisdom glasses that help us tell the difference between what’s real and what’s fluffy nonsense.
Help us shine Your love and kindness wherever we go. Let our hearts be like night lights in the dark—guiding others to You.
Thank You for always being close, always listening, and always leading us with grace.
Amen.” 💖

💬 Your Turn: Be Faithful, Be Kind, Be Wonderfully You
Wanna join the Bunny Brigade of Faithfulness this week? Fluffernutter and I made a sparkle-scribbled scroll of brave and beautiful ideas you can try at home, school, or wherever your jellybean boots take you.
These tiny acts of love are how we stand by others—just like Onesiphorus did for Paul. And guess what? They’re also how we shine God’s light with bunny-sized bravery. 🌟🐰
🌳 Make a Faithfulness Tree
Every leaf = one act of kindness or loyalty. You can…
- Hug someone who’s having a hard day
- Do a chore without being asked (even the icky ones!)
- Write “God loves you!” on a sticky note and surprise someone
Soon, your tree will look like a forest of faith!
🎀 Stand Up for a Friend
If someone’s left out, sad, or picked on… hop over and include them. Say:
“Wanna sit with me?”
“You’re not alone. I see you.”
🧠 Memorize a Verse
Try this one:
“Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering, for He is faithful that promised.” — Hebrews 10:23
Stick it on your mirror, in your lunchbox, or on your forehead (okay, maybe not your forehead).
Let’s keep praying, learning, and lighting up the world—one Discernment Lantern, bunny hug, and Bible verse at a time. 🌍✨
Until next time…
Stay bright, stay brave, and keep hopping in His truth!
With sparkle-hearted love,
Alice 🐰💖
