Glorifying God: Fun Ways to Shine in Everyday Life

By Alice

Hello from the Royal Floor Kingdom! I’m Alice, high commander of Fluffernutter’s Bunny Brigade and part-time snackologist.

Last night, something glorious happened during family Bible time. I was snuggled upside-down on the couch (which helps me think better, obviously), and Fluffernutter was wearing his “serious ears”—the ones he uses for big missions from God. Mommy read us a Bible verse that went BOOM right into my heart like a sparkle-cannon:
“Whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” (That’s from 1 Corinthians 10:31, in case Fluffernutter forgets again.)

Now, I didn’t totally know what “glorifying God” meant. I thought maybe it involved glitter. Or possibly carrying God around on a parade float made of marshmallows. Fluffernutter whispered that it had something to do with doing everything like you’re on God’s cheerleading squad—even brushing your teeth or sharing your last blueberry muffin.

So we had an idea. A mission, actually.

We were going to find tiny ways—silly ways, sparkly ways, snack-sized ways—to glorify God, right here at home. No mountaintop needed. Just me, Fluffernutter, our Bible, and a notebook now officially called the Glory Quest Journal of Super Important Things.

Wanna come? You’ll need imagination goggles, a crown of kindness, and possibly a spoon (just in case pudding is involved). There’s a really big lesson hiding in our living room, and we’re about to discover it…

✨ Paul: The Super Letter-Writing Race Coach of the Bible! 🐪📜💨

Okay, okay, listen up—because this part of the story is juicy.

So there was this guy named Paul. He wasn’t just any guy—he was like the superhero of the early church. A real-deal missionary, epic letter-writer, and total genius at coming up with faith-filled metaphors. Seriously, if there was a Bible Olympics for writing, Paul would get gold medals and maybe a camel-shaped trophy.

📣 Fluffernutter says Paul’s brain was like a library with running shoes!

Anyway, one of Paul’s super-famous letters was to a group of his friends in a city called Thessalonica. (Try saying that with peanut butter in your mouth.) Thessalonica was like the Bible-time version of a super-busy mega-city, with people zooming around trading stuff, chatting in different languages, and probably getting very lost in the marketplace. 🏺🛍️✨

Paul told them to stay strong and faithful, even when everything around them felt wiggly and confusing. He wanted them to shine like faith-lanterns in a world full of noise.

One of my favorite things he ever said was about how living the Christian life is like running a race. Not a frog race (Fluffernutter checked)—but a race where your eyes are locked on Jesus at the finish line, and your heart is pounding with joy because every step gets you closer to Him.

🏁 “Let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus…” —Hebrews 12:1–2
(Okay, okay, that one’s from someone else, but Paul definitely gave race-vibes in 1 Corinthians 9:24 too!)

Paul’s big mission? To remind people that glorifying God isn’t just for fancy preachers or quiet prayer times. It’s for everyone. It’s in the running, the writing, the baking, the sharing, and the not-throwing-a-fit-when-your-sister-takes-your-last cracker. 🍪

🌟 Let’s Wonder Together!

If you wrote a letter like Paul, who would you send it to?

Can you think of a time when you kept going even when things got tough—like in a race?

What’s something silly or serious you could do today to glorify God with your actions?

🌈 Team Jesus: Whistles, Wonder, and Glorifying God in Our Everyday Adventures 🏆

Okay okay okay—guess what? Paul didn’t just write letters and metaphors and snack-worthy wisdom scrolls. He also prayed—like, a lot. And in one super special prayer for his buddies in Thessalonica, Paul had two huge, heavenly-sized hopes:

✨ That God would make them worthy of their calling

(aka, rockstars on Team Jesus!)

🎺 Fluffernutter says being “worthy” doesn’t mean you’re perfect—just that you play your heart out for the Kingdom. Like wearing your Team Jesus jersey proudly and remembering that kindness is your superpower.

Yaya said it’s like God gives each of us a mission badge—like “Encourager” or “Hope Sprinkler” or “Peace Pirate”—and Paul was praying for all of us to walk in that purpose with courage and big-hearted joy.

✨ That their lives would glorify Jesus in everything

(from snack time to school time to sibling-not-fighting time)

Paul didn’t mean you have to shout “Glory!” every time you eat a banana. 🍌 (Though Fluffernutter tried it, and it was kind of funny.) He meant that when we live like Jesus—loving big, forgiving fast, and being gentle even when we’re super grumpy—we shine God’s light like a thousand sparkly fireflies.

🌟 “So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” —1 Corinthians 10:31
(This verse is basically the Bible’s version of a cheerleader pom-pom. 📣✨)

Living a life that glorifies Jesus isn’t about being fancy or famous. It’s about showing His love in tiny ways that make a HUGE difference.

🎯 Paul’s Pep Talk from Heaven (Probably with a Whistle)

Picture Paul like a coach—clipboard in one hand, holy megaphone in the other—yelling joyful things like:

“Let’s GO, Team Jesus!”
“Remember your calling!”
“Shine bright, share kind, glorify Christ!”

Daddy said it’s like playing your best game for God, where every little pass, high-five, or sandwich-shared moment is part of a bigger mission to make Jesus famous with our lives. 🌍💖

💬 Questions to Wonder About:

Have you ever done something small that made someone smile big?

What do you think your special mission badge from God might say?

How can you glorify Jesus during normal things like brushing teeth or cleaning toys?

💖 The Prayer Torch: Living for God’s Glory (With Snacks and Sparkles!) 🕯️✨

Okay, here comes the WHOA part. Ready?

Paul didn’t just write this prayer for the people in Thessalonica with their sandals and scrolls and maybe camel-shaped bread. He wrote it for YOU. And me. And Fluffernutter. And your grandma. Everyone on Team Jesus—now, back then, and forever-ever.

🕊️ “You’ve got this! God’s grace is with you every step of the way.”
(Alice Translation of Paul’s postcard from Heaven. 📮✨)

🏃‍♀️ Ariel’s Brilliant Torch Relay of Faith!

So during family Bible time, Ariel said something super smart (she does that a lot). She said living for God’s glory is like a relay race. Every kind thing you do is like holding a little torch, and when you pass that kindness along—like sharing stickers, giving hugs, or helping your sister clean up snack crumbs—you pass on the light of Jesus!

I almost dropped my pudding.

Because that means every little thing—even ones that feel squishy or boring—can shine God’s love on someone else!

🌟 Tiny Deeds, Giant Glows

Imagine our hearts like glow jars. Every time we do something for God’s glory, we shake those jars up—and boom!—someone else gets to see His light, too.

💡 “Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” —Matthew 5:16

We’re not just glow jars… we’re glow-passing, heart-hugging, love-shining vessels of grace! That means your kindness ripples out like jellybeans in a bouncing basket. 🍬🌊

🛡️ Be Bold. Shine Bright. Share Jesus.

Fluffernutter said, “If your light had a name, it would be ‘Faithbeam Sparklepuff.’” And honestly… he might be onto something.

Because this life? It’s not just about doing nice things quietly in the corner. It’s about standing up, standing out, and saying:

“God made me to shine!”
“I’m part of His plan!”
“I’m sharing the Light with sprinkles on top!”

When we shine like that, we don’t just warm up our homes—we light up the world.

💬 Let’s Wonder Together!

If your light had a funny name like Fluffernutter’s idea, what would it be?

What’s something small you did today that could shine Jesus’ light?

Can you think of a time someone else’s kindness helped you feel God’s love?

🏰 Living Worthy of Our Calling (a.k.a. Being a Lighthouse with Bunny Boots) 💡🐰

Yaya said something so shiny during Bible time that I almost fell off the couch.

🕯️ “It’s like being a lighthouse—your light guides others to safety.”

WHOA.

So living worthy of your calling means we’re walking, talking glow-beams that help people find Jesus—even if we’re just holding hands, picking up trash, or sharing our last goldfish cracker.

🐾 What Does That Look Like in Real Life?

It’s like when Fluffernutter makes room on the story blanket for Bash the dog. Or when I choose not to scream EVEN WHEN ARIEL TAKES THE LAST MARSHMALLOW. (That’s called kindness, by the way. Super hard. Super worth it.)

When we live for Jesus, our actions turn into tiny lighthouses that blink, “Hey! God’s love lives here!” to everyone around us.

🌟 Bible Superstars Who Totally Got the Mission

👑 Esther: Queen of Brave Decisions

Imagine a girl who risked everything just to save her people. That’s Esther. She didn’t just wear a crown—she wore courage like armor. And when her moment came, she said, “YES, God! I’ll do it!”
Even if she was scared.

💬 “And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?” —Esther 4:14

(Fluffernutter says she’s the original “Queen of Calling.”)

🧙 Moses: Staff-Wielder Extraordinaire

Then there’s Moses—who got to part the sea like he was doing a God-powered magic trick! 🪄🌊 But the real miracle was how he said “Yes” to God even when he felt super unsure. He helped his whole entire nation walk out of slavery into freedom because he followed his calling.

Sometimes answering God’s call feels like standing in front of a huge sea… but that’s when faith starts glowing the brightest.

🌊 So… What’s YOUR Lighthouse Look Like?

Maybe it’s shaped like a cookie tray. Or a friendship bracelet. Or maybe it’s a prayer you whisper before math class. Every one of us has a different “lighthouse light” that can help someone else feel safe, loved, and seen.

💬 Let’s Wonder Together!

What would your lighthouse look like if you drew it today?

What’s one way you can shine Jesus’ love this week?

Do you think your calling could be quiet and powerful—like Esther—or bold and wobbly—like Moses?

🌟 Glorifying Jesus in Everything (Even When You Want to Yell “NOPE!”) 💖🙈

Okay. This next part is BIG. Like, bigger than Bash’s bark during mail truck hour.

Yaya told us a story that made Fluffernutter stop mid-hop. She talked about a time when someone wasn’t kind to her—like, ouch-in-the-heart not kind. And instead of growling or hiding their cookies forever, Yaya did something super shiny and brave…

She forgave them.

💬 “It wasn’t easy,” Yaya said, “but with God’s help, I showed them His love.”

Whoa.

🕊️ Forgiveness = Faith with Sparkle Boots On

Let’s be honest. Forgiving someone when they’ve been mean or unfair feels like trying to hug a cactus. 🌵 But guess what? Forgiving is one of the most powerful ways to glorify Jesus—especially when it’s really, really hard.

✨ “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” —Ephesians 4:32

When we forgive, we’re not just letting go of grumpiness—we’re grabbing Jesus’ hand and saying, “Okay, let’s love even when it stings.”

That’s called living faith out loud. No megaphone needed. Just a heart full of grace.

💡 Fun Fact From Fluffernutter’s Dictionary

Did you know the word glorify comes from the Latin word glorificare? It means “to make glorious!”

So when we forgive—like really forgive—we’re sprinkling glory glitter all over Jesus’ name. 💫 Every kind word, every gentle choice, every quiet moment where we choose love instead of yelling “YOU’RE NOT MY FRIEND ANYMORE!”—those things glorify Jesus in ways that light up the whole world.

💬 Let’s Wonder Together!

Can you think of a time someone forgave you? How did that feel?

Have you ever had a moment when forgiving someone felt extra tough? What helped you do it?

Why do you think forgiveness is such a powerful way to glorify Jesus?

💪 Relying on God’s Strength (a.k.a. Grocery Bag Giggles and Grace Power!)

Pssst… wanna know a secret?

We’re not supposed to do this life thing alone. Not even the tough stuff. Not even the melt-down-on-the-floor, why-is-this-happening, I-stepped-in-pudding-again days.

Paul (a.k.a. Coach of Faith and Encouragement) said we should rely on God’s grace when things feel wobbly, wild, or waaay too big for our tiny arms.

💬 “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” —2 Corinthians 12:9

🛒 Grocery Bag Theology (by Ariel & Daddy)

One time, Ariel said, “It’s like when Daddy helps me carry all the groceries. Some of the bags feel like they’re filled with bowling balls… or maybe watermelons with secrets!”

But when they carry them together, it’s not just easier—it’s kinda fun. And by the time they reach the porch, they’re laughing about squished bread and juggling bananas.

That’s what relying on God’s strength feels like—when we can’t carry life alone, God steps in with His mega-mighty arms and says,

“Let’s carry this together, kiddo.”

🧁 Fluffernutter’s “Strong Together” Club

Fluffernutter says even stuffed bunnies know the secret sauce to strength: community, grace, and jellybeans. (Mostly the first two.)

When we lean on God—and each other—we find joy where there used to be struggle. Strength in the middle of snot-crying prayers. Hope wrapped in high-fives and bedtime Bible verses.

🛡️ Life’s Heavy Moments Don’t Scare God

In fact, He loves helping. He loves being close. And He loves showing us that even when we feel weak, His love makes us unbreakable in all the best ways.

💬 Let’s Wonder Together!

If you had a “Strong in Jesus” superhero cape, what color would it be?

Can you think of a time when someone helped carry something heavy—your backpack, your feelings, your heart?

🏛️ Let’s Add Some History! (With Fish Markets, Scrolls, and a Side of Faith!) 🐟📜✨

Okay, okay, okay… history time!

So once upon a very real time, there was a mega-busy city called Thessalonica. It was founded in 315 BC by a guy named King Cassander of Macedon, who named it after his wife Thessalonike (who, fun fact, was Alexander the Great’s half-sister—imagine THAT family reunion 👑).

But this wasn’t just any city—it was a twinkling treasure chest of cultures, languages, and trades. Think bustling markets, clinking coins, ships from faraway lands, and street snacks that probably smelled amazing (Fluffernutter says probably figs and fish sticks).

🛍️ Marketplace Mayhem and Roman Roads

Thessalonica was a trade-tastic city in the Roman Empire, kind of like an ancient super mall with goats and scrolls. There were sailors shouting, spices flying, and shiny temples all around.

But Paul? He wasn’t there to buy olives or upgrade his sandals.

He came with something bigger—the transformative message of Jesus. 📖💫

🕊️ “For we know, brothers and sisters loved by God, that He has chosen you.” —1 Thessalonians 1:4

Paul’s arrival was like dropping a faith-firework right into the heart of the city. His words didn’t need microphones or marble stages—just hungry hearts and hopeful ears.

💌 Paul’s Letters: Better Than a Bestie Text

Imagine you’re in a noisy, busy place with ships honking (do ships honk?), and suddenly you get a scroll that says:

“You’ve got this. God’s got your back. Keep shining!”

That’s basically what Paul’s letters were for the early Christians in Thessalonica. They were like scroll-sized pep talks filled with hope, truth, and courage sprinkles. 🌟

Even in the chaos of merchant shouting and temple bells ringing, Paul wrote to the believers—people just like us—who were trying to live for Jesus in a world full of distractions and doubts.

🌍 Why This Matters Today

Guess what? Our world is kind of like ancient Thessalonica—loud, busy, and sometimes confusing. But just like those early believers, we have letters too—in our Bibles! And they still whisper:

“God loves you.”
“You’re chosen.”
“Shine your light even when it feels hard.”

💬 Let’s Wonder Together!

Have you ever felt encouraged by a Bible verse when life felt noisy?

What do you think Thessalonica sounded and smelled like back then?

How do you think people felt getting one of Paul’s letters?

🌟 How I Plan to Shine for Jesus (Even When Mr. Fluffernutter Gets Bossy) 🐰✨

So after all this glorify-Jesus-and-shine-your-light talk, I told Ariel and Yaya:

“I have a plan. A shiny plan. Like, sparkle-on-toast level shiny.”

Wanna hear it? Okay, here goes:

🍫 Step 1: Share My Snacks (Even the Chocolate Ones… GULP.)

I’m gonna share snacks with Ariel—even the good ones. The chocolatey ones. The ones that whisper, “Hide me in your sock drawer!”

Sharing snacks shows love. Plus, I might get to try some of Ariel’s crunchy favorites too (she has this one trail mix that smells like cinnamon hugs). Sharing is basically like saying:

💬 “Hey, I love you more than I love this cookie.”

🌱 Step 2: Help Daddy in the Garden (Even If It’s Squishy and Squirmy)

I’m going to help Daddy plant things! Even if it means bugs on my boots and dirt in my elbow creases.

Gardening is kind of like faith—slow, messy, but miraculous. Plus, Daddy says watching seeds grow teaches patience, and I need extra practice with that (especially when waiting for banana bread to cool).

🪴 “Let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.” —Galatians 6:9

Teamwork in the garden = teamwork in God’s Kingdom.

🐰 Step 3: Be Patient with Fluffernutter (Even When He Declares Himself King of the Couch)

Mr. Fluffernutter thinks he’s the boss. All. The. Time. But instead of giving him a time-out in the sock bin, I’m going to love him anyway. With giggles. And hugs. And letting him wear my tiara once a week.

Because kindness counts—even for stuffed royalty.

playful children’s illustration of a girl with light brown wavy hair holding a glass prism as rainbows shine across the room from hanging crystals, with a white bunny wearing goggles and holding a clipboard beside her, a bible open to genesis 9:13, and a sign reading god’s secret sparkle lab in the background

🌈 Bible + Science = Prism Party for Jesus!

Yaya told me something that made my eyes go BOING.

She said:

💬 “When you shine light through a prism, it makes a rainbow—just like when we live for Jesus, we show His light in all kinds of beautiful ways!”

WHAT?! That means… I’M A WALKING RAINBOW PRISM FOR JESUS?! 🌈🩷💛💙

🧪 A Little Bible Science Sprinkle

Prisms aren’t just glass triangles—they’re God’s secret sparkle machines. When light hits them just right, they split into every color of the rainbow. It’s like God saying,

“See all this beauty? It’s in My promise AND in you.”

🌟 “God said, ‘I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant…’” —Genesis 9:13

When we shine for Jesus through kindness, courage, forgiveness, and even garden-helper dirtiness… His love spreads out through us like a living rainbow.

Isn’t that the coolest Bible-science-combo in the WHOLE UNIVERSE?

💬 Let’s Wonder Together!

Can you think of someone who reflected Jesus’ light to you recently?

What’s one silly or serious way YOU could shine for Jesus this week?

🎨 Interactive Craft Time: Let’s Make a “Shine for Jesus” Prism Mobile! 🌈✂️💖

Okay crafters, story-spinners, and sparkle-lovers… it’s time for Crafty Mission: SHINE! Because what’s better than a faith-filled rainbow mobile that literally catches the light and reminds us to glorify Jesus every day?

✨ “Let your light shine before others…” —Matthew 5:16

This isn’t just any craft. This is a faith-based rainbow prism craft for kids who want to turn their rooms into mini-lighthouses of love.

🧺 What You’ll Need:

  • Clear plastic or glass prisms
(Or cut-out shiny paper triangles—aka “pretend prisms with attitude!”)
  • String or yarn
(Twisty, colorful, and great for dangling things safely above Fluffernutter’s napping corner.)
  • Markers, crayons, or stickers
(Use BRIGHT ones. Like glow-in-the-dark jellybean bright.)
  • Paper shapes
(Stars, hearts, clouds, or even Fluffernutter-shaped cutouts if you’re feeling fancy!)

✏️ Step-by-Sparkle Instructions:

  1. Write Jesus-Shining Words
On each paper shape or prism, write something that reflects how YOU glorify Jesus! Like:
    • “Love my neighbor”
    • “Forgive even when it’s hard”
    • “Share cookies without crying”
    • “Be patient with bossy bunnies”
  2. Decorate with All Your Heart
Add doodles, crosses, hearts, rainbows, or even sparkles that shout: “I’m part of God’s glow team!”
  3. Tie and Dangle with Care
Use yarn to tie your shapes to a hanger, hoop, or stick. (Sticks from the yard make it feel extra woodsy and Holy-Land-y.)
  4. Place It Where the Light Shines
Hang it in a window or porch where sunshine can hit it. Watch as rainbows dance around your room like Jesus saying, 💬 “You’re doing great, my little prism!”

🌟 Why This Craft Is So Cool

Just like prisms show ALL the colors in light, our lives show ALL the goodness of God when we live like Jesus.
Your mobile is a daily reminder that God’s love is colorful, powerful, and meant to shine!

💬 Let’s Wonder Together!

  • What would you write on your own “Shine for Jesus” prism?
  • Where do you see God’s light dancing in your life right now?
  • Can you think of a way to reflect His love today—like a human rainbow?

🛏️ A Prayer to End the Day (With Fluffernutter Snuggled In) 🌙🐰✨

Before drifting off to dreamland, I whispered this prayer while snuggling Fluffernutter under our quilt that smells like lavender and library books:

💤 “Dear Jesus,
Thank You for calling us to live for You.
Help us to be kind, brave, and full of love
so others can see how wonderful You are.
Give us strength to shine for You every day—
even when the world feels big and we feel small.
Remind us that Your love is always with us,
like a glowing flashlight when things get dark.
Let our hearts reflect Your grace and compassion,
so we can inspire others to follow Your light too.
Amen.” 💗

(Fluffernutter said it louder just in case heaven needed extra volume.)

💬 What About You? Let’s Be Light-Shiners Together!

How will you shine for Jesus this week?

Maybe it’s by saying sorry when it’s hard.
Maybe it’s by inviting someone to sit with you.
Maybe it’s by sharing your really good crayons. 🎨

🌟 “You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden.” —Matthew 5:14

Let’s be lighthouses, prisms, and torch-bearers—even if our torches are glittery and covered in cookie crumbs.

Keep shining, glow-beam! 🌈
You never know who’s watching and getting braver because you lit up the way.
