What is inside Plural Pines?
32 unique pages, provided in two matching 32-page PDF editions. The color edition has warm illustrated woodland scenes. The low-ink edition uses a white background, black outlines and separate line art. Both contain the same learning sequence, numbered items and answers. Two editions provide 64 PDF pages of the same 32-page resource, not 64 unique lessons.
The pack includes parent guidance, a readiness check, a pocket plural guide, a story route map, four missions, mixed sorting, sentence repairs, eight cut-apart delivery cards, a four-mailbox game mat, a drawing-and-writing project, a final review, a progress record/certificate and four pages of complete answers and open-response criteria.
Four spelling routes with a reason for each choice
Pineboat Landing: keep the whole noun and add -s, as in boat → boats. Boxbridge Shed: add -es to selected nouns ending in s, x, sh or ch, as in box → boxes. Berry Basket Bend: check the letter before y; berry becomes berries while toy becomes toys. Moonpond Village: learn child/children, mouse/mice, tooth/teeth, foot/feet and sheep/sheep.

How do I teach with these worksheets?
Start with the readiness check on page 3. Read a mission example together, complete guided practice, then try the independent page. Ask your learner to explain the spelling choice and repair an incorrect label. One or two pages at a time is fine. The parent guide suggests reteaching the route after mistakes, and the reusable mailbox game adds spoken practice.

Who is this for, and what does it cover?
Designed for Grade 2 learners who can recognize familiar nouns and read short sentences with adult support. Character ages are separate from the target grade. An adult may read directions aloud. This is a focused spelling and grammar supplement, not a complete language arts curriculum. It does not teach -f/-fe or -o plural rules, every irregular noun, or possessive noun rules.
Print and play
Print one edition on US Letter paper at 100%/actual size. Single-sided printing makes it easy to separate the answer guide and cut-apart cards. Use a pencil and optional crayons. An adult should handle scissors; a point-and-say option avoids cutting. The cards need no die, app or online account.

Frequently asked questions
Are the color and low-ink activities different?
They teach the same 32-page sequence. Choose the edition that suits your printer and learner; you do not need to print both.
Are all the answers included?
Yes. The guide gives exact spellings, sorting routes, corrected sentences, game placements and criteria/examples for explanations and original writing. Different sensible sentences are accepted when they meet the criterion.
Does it include every English plural spelling rule?
No. It deliberately focuses on -s, selected -es endings, consonant/vowel + y choices and five special pairs. Other plural patterns can be studied later.
Can I print it for a class or share the files?
The included license covers one household and its children. It does not cover classrooms or co-ops. Do not share, resell or upload the full paid files. The separate public sample may be linked for a preview.
Is this a physical workbook?
No. This is a digital ZIP download containing two printable PDFs plus printing and household-license notes. No physical item will be shipped. Open the ZIP on your device, then choose the PDF edition you want to print.
