Look inside first: Download the free six-page sample. It includes the cover, four-bridge field guide, an AND lesson, supported practice, comma workshop and selected answers. The full product is a separate paid download.

What is included?

One customer ZIP contains two 30-page PDFs: the premium color edition and a white-background low-ink edition, plus printing and household-license notes. They contain the same 30 unique pages in the same sequence; they are not 60 different lessons.

Inside: parent start guide, readiness check, reusable conjunction field guide, four illustrated worked lessons, guided and independent sentence-building practice, explanation and error checks, comma repair, mixed review, eight game cards and a reusable game board, a rescue-ending writing project, six-item exit check, progress record/certificate and three complete answer-guide pages. There are 70 numbered activities, including the game cards and open tasks.

Four bridges that connect ideas

Leafy Landing: add related ideas with AND. Violet Vista: show a contrast with BUT. Turquoise Turn: offer alternatives with OR. Golden Grove: place a cause before its result and join with SO.

The sentence work compares joining words with joining two complete thoughts. Children learn the comma pattern used for these compound sentences, check meaning, and explain why a conjunction fits. Prompts state the intended connection, and the parent guide acknowledges sensible alternative interpretations.

Who is it for, and how do we use it?

Designed as a focused Grade 2 supplement for learners who can read short sentences with support, recognize a complete sentence and an action word, and use a capital letter and end mark. An adult may read aloud or scribe oral answers. Begin with the readiness page; model any missing prerequisite before moving into the missions.

Use one mission over two flexible sittings: read the example together, work through supported practice, then try independent work. The writing spaces allow children to compose their joined sentences. The game works alone or with a partner and needs no timer or app. The exit check helps you decide which connection to revisit; it is not a validated assessment.

Printing, format and permission

US Letter portrait PDFs. Print at Actual Size / 100%; one-sided printing is useful for the optional cut-apart game cards. You need a pencil and, for the game, small counters. Adult scissors are optional because cards can be read on the intact page. Print just the pages you need, and keep the answer guide with the adult.

Digital download only; no physical item is shipped. The purchase covers printing for children in one household. Do not share, resell or publicly upload the files. Classroom, tutoring-group and co-op use require separate permission. This is a grammar supplement, not a full language-arts curriculum. It does not teach every coordinating, subordinating or correlative conjunction.

Questions families ask

Are answers included? Yes. All 70 numbered tasks have an answer or open-response criteria, including punctuation and meaning checks.

Do I need to print both editions? No. Choose the edition you prefer; the learning sequence, activity IDs and answers match.

Is the whole product free? No. The clearly labeled six-page public sample is free to inspect. The full two-edition pack is a separate purchase.

Can a child give answers aloud? Yes. Oral explanations or adult scribing are useful when handwriting would hide understanding. Written sentence practice remains available.

Does it cover commas? It introduces the comma before and, but, or and so when they connect two complete thoughts, contrasted with simple word pairs. It is not a comprehensive punctuation course.

Can I use it with a class? The included license is for one household. Please contact Blogging4Adventure before classroom or co-op copying.
