What will my child practice?

Join Ariel, Alice and one plush white Mr. Fluffernutter to restore the Sky Library messages. At Capital Gate, fix sentence starts, names of people and I. Cross Word-Space Bridge to separate and order words. Visit the Listening Shelves to tell with a period or ask with a question mark. In Storyteller Loft, match an exclamation point to strong excitement, repair mixed messages and create a library book page.

What is included?

Your customer ZIP contains Sentence_Spark_Color.pdf and Sentence_Spark_Low_Ink.pdf, each 30 pages, plus a customer readme and household license. These are 30 unique pages provided in two matching editions, not 60 unique lessons. US Letter portrait PDFs include adult guidance, readiness check, rescue map, five visual before-and-after examples, guided and independent practice, explanation checks, a pocket reference, six editing-game cards and game board, a four-message final check, illustrated writing project, progress celebration and complete answers.

Who is it for?

Designed for Grade 1 learners who recognize most letters, copy short words and say a simple complete idea. An adult can read every direction and sentence aloud. The character ages are separate from the target grade. This is a sentence-conventions supplement; it does not teach decoding, spelling, dates, commas, quotation marks or a complete grammar curriculum.

How do we use it at home?

Open either edition and print the pages you need. Say a sentence together, examine a worked example, then let your child repair a message. Use the four checks on the pocket tool: whole idea, capitals, spaces and ending. The final check includes a simple local scoring guide and reteaching suggestions. Move at your learner’s pace.

Can we print it in black and white?

Yes. The low-ink edition uses white backgrounds, restrained outlines and matching story line art. It has the same activity IDs, sequence and answers as the color edition. Print on US Letter paper at actual size / 100%, portrait and single-sided. A pencil is enough; crayons are optional. Adult preparation is needed only if cutting game cards.

Does the sample include answers?

Yes. The free six-page sample contains the cover, capital-letter lesson, capital practice, question-mark lesson, pocket checker and a dedicated sample answer page. Original page numbers are retained on the five selected pages. It is a preview of the paid product.

Can I use one purchase with both of my children?

Yes, for children in one household. Print and reuse within that household. Do not redistribute, resell or publicly upload the paid files. Classroom and co-op permission is separate. This is a digital printable download; no physical product is shipped.

Is it a full Grade 1 language arts course?

No. It focuses on sentence features and end punctuation, with earlier spacing foundations and selected capitalization practice. It supports work related to RF.1.1a and L.1.2b, but does not cover every part of the Grade 1 language standards. Use it alongside your reading and writing lessons.

Actual lesson page shows alice and i read. changed to Alice and I read., three explanations and a handwriting task.
