🍓 The Number-Berry Orchard
One morning, Fluffernutter and I tiptoed across the grass until we reached the orchard. But something was different—something magical. The berries weren’t plain anymore. They glowed with shiny numbers that shimmered like tiny lanterns.
A berry as red as ruby had a glowing 3 carved on its skin. Another, plump and purple, shimmered with a 7. My mouth opened so wide in surprise that the birds fluttered out of the branches, as if to say, “Did you see that too?”
The air smelled like honey drizzled over warm bread, and when I brushed my fingers across the berry skin, it gave a little tingle—almost like it wanted me to count it.
“Numbers are waiting for you,” whispered Fluffernutter, twitching his velvety ears. “Pick the right ones, and the orchard will sparkle with God’s joy.”
So we began our count:
- 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 berries stood in a neat row like little soldiers. Saying them out loud made my heart bounce like a drumbeat.
- Then two more peeked shyly from behind the leaves. “That makes 7!” I squealed, spinning around until I fell in the grass, dizzy with laughter.
- Ariel, never one to miss out on fun, grabbed a stick and began sketching shapes in the dirt—circles, triangles, and squares. Soon the orchard floor looked like a puzzle playground bursting with patterns.

🐰 Bunny Math Riddles
Fluffernutter twitched his nose and leaned close. “Every good quest needs riddles,” he declared. His little paw pointed to the glowing berries.
- “If you have 2 berries and I give you 3 more, how many do you have?”
“Five! That’s a bunny high-five!” I shouted. Fluffernutter slapped his paw against my hand, letting out a squeaky giggle. - “Hop 2 steps after number 5.”
“Seven!” I hollered, hopping exactly seven times before collapsing into hiccup-giggles that made Ariel laugh so hard she nearly toppled over.
Each correct answer sent a ripple through the orchard. The berries glowed brighter, the grass shimmered like emerald threads, and it felt as if the stars themselves were clapping.

📖 God’s Counting Love
Yaya, watching from her seat under the tree, smiled with that soft, knowing way only grandmothers can. “Numbers remind us of God’s order in creation,” she said gently. “Just like Psalm 139 tells us, He knows the number of every hair on your head. Isn’t that amazing? God never loses count—not your steps, not your giggles, not even your bunny hops.”
I hugged Fluffernutter close. “Does God even count how many times I fall down?”
“Yes,” Yaya chuckled, “and He helps you back up every single time. Just as He counts the stars in the heavens—like Psalm 147:4 says—He counts even these glowing berries. Every single piece of creation matters.”

💖 Ending Reflection
Fluffernutter wiggled his nose and whispered, “Numbers aren’t boring, Alice. They’re God’s giggles hidden in the world. Every time you count, you uncover a treasure He made just for you.”
So I say this: counting is magical, joyful, and brimming with God’s love. Whether it’s berries in an orchard, stars in the sky, or the hops of a bunny—He sees every single one.
Are you ready to hop into numbers with me? 🐇✨
With love,
Alice
