Okay, time for some brutal honesty.
Some folks swear by vision boards, others pay big money for life coaches.
Me? I sit down with a cup of coffee, open up GPT, and say, “Hey, buddy… help me figure this out before my to-do list eats me alive.”
And guess what?
It works.

Step 1 – Define the Buckets
I used to have one giant blob of “stuff I should probably do someday.”
GPT taught me to break it down into life buckets so it’s easier to handle. Mine look like this:
- Health – keeping my body from staging a rebellion.
- Learning – keeping my brain from going stale.
- Finances – making sure I can afford more than instant noodles.
- Relationships – not forgetting to be a human who talks to other humans.
- Hobbies – the fun stuff that makes life worth living.

Step 2 – Make the Goals SMART
(Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound — a.k.a. “not just a wish.”)
Here’s what I’m shooting for in 2025:
- Health – Pick up running again.
- Learning – Revisit 4th grade and remember everything they shoveled down my throat that I never found purpose for.
- Finances – Build enough funds to escape my prison.
- Relationships – Find a way to show my friends I truly appreciate the constant help they provide..
- Hobbies – Find a hobby that does not involve electronic devices.
Build a SMART Goal

Step 3 – Break It Into Steps
Big goals are just tiny steps that got their act together.
Here’s my blueprint:
- Daily – 20 minutes of exercise, 20 minutes of reading or course work, track my spending.
- Weekly – Meal prep, budget review, a creative writing session.
- Monthly – Check progress, adjust plans if life goes sideways, and celebrate wins (yes, pizza counts as a win).

Why I Like This System
- It keeps me honest – No vague “someday” dreams, just steps I can actually do.
- It’s flexible – When life changes, GPT helps me rewrite the map without guilt.
- It sparks ideas – GPT suggests things I wouldn’t have thought of (like turning my hobbies into mini challenges).
So yeah… my secret weapon for goal planning is literally talking to GPT.
It’s like having a personal coach who never rolls their eyes when I say, “I’ll start Monday.”
With honesty,
Daddy Ryan
