From Kilts to Carnival: Alice’s Global Costume Parade

By Alice

🎀 “Okay, Fluffernutter! Today we’re going around the WHOLE world—without even leaving our squeaky floorboards!”

Have you ever opened a closet and found not clothes but a portal? One that smells like glitter and giggles and old library books that whisper secrets? That’s what happened when I peeked into Mommy’s costume box this morning. Poof! Suddenly I wasn’t Alice anymore—I was Queen Sparkle-McTartan of Scotland, then zoom I turned into a Samba Swirl Princess of Brazil, then whoosh-a-doodle, I became a floating flower blossom from Japan!

Each costume was like a prayer someone wore—with stories sewn into every thread and sparkles that told tales of God’s creativity across the whole wide earth. I twirled, bowed, danced, and declared:
👑 “This is my Very Official Global Parade of Glory to God’s Imagination!”

Mr. Fluffernutter (who wore a sombrero the size of a tea cup) said each outfit was like a smile from heaven—and he’s a bunny, so he knows these things. 🐰💬

God made the people of the world like a box of crayons that never runs out of colors. And when we dress up in each other’s happy threads—not to pretend, but to celebrate—it’s like saying, “Wow, Lord! You sure made this world fun!”

So grab your polka-dot socks and holy twirly skirts, because today we’re marching through a parade of praise, from kilts to Carnival feathers—and every jellybean crown in between.

🩷 Let’s explore, let’s learn, let’s dress up in love.
✝️ “For you are all one in Christ Jesus.” —Galatians 3:28

Ready?
Fluffernutter just packed the bunny-trunk with faith, friendship, and 84 invisible maracas.

Let the Global Costume Parade begin! 🌍🎉💃🐾

🎒 The Trunk of Traditions

✨ Where Every Costume Tells a Story from God’s Wonder-Woven World!

It all began when Yaya lugged out a giant wooden treasure trunk (which totally creaked like it had a dragon sleeping inside). With a magical grin, she whispered,
🎀 “This is filled with costumes from all around the world!”

Inside? OH. MY. BUTTONS.

Silks that shimmered like dancing rainbows. Feathers brighter than toucan tickles. Sparkly bangles that jingled like tiny bell choirs. And yes—Fluffernutter’s own royal ambassador outfit, complete with a teensy crown and official bunny sash. 🐰💎

“Let’s try them ALL!” I squealed, somersaulting straight into the dress-up avalanche as Fluffy hopped behind like a curious cupcake knight.

🏴 Scottish Kilt & Highland Hijinks

A Parade of Plaids and God-Given Grit!

First, I twirled into a red-and-green tartan kilt that tickled my knees like happy grasshoppers. “Did you know each Scottish clan has its very own pattern?” Yaya asked with a storyteller twinkle.

In my mind’s bagpipe-booming world, Fluffernutter and I entered the Highland Games! He tossed cabers (aka tree-sized pretzel sticks), while I high-kicked across the hills, scarfing down shortbread cookies that melted like angel hugs in my mouth.

🏴‍☠️ “Fluffy wins the gold for air bagpipe solos!” I declared as we danced with imaginary Scottish sheep in kilts.

“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid… for the Lord your God goes with you.” — Deuteronomy 31:6

Have you ever dressed up like someone from long ago? What do you think God loved about their bravery?

Dancing Through Joy with Every Feather Flutter

Next stop: Brazilian Carnival! I slipped into a costume so sparkly, I’m pretty sure a disco ball fainted from envy. Feathers flew, beads bounced, and Fluffy wore a maraca crown that made his ears shimmy.

Yaya said Carnival is one BIG joy parade—music, dancing, colors, God-sized happiness!
“Everyone joins the celebration!” she said.

In my samba-swirling dream, I danced through the streets of Rio de Janeiro. Confetti floated like fairy dust. Drums rumbled like giggles. Flowers perfumed the air like God’s own glitter spray. “Viva Carnival!” I sang, spinning into a whirl of praise.

“Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.” — Psalm 150:6

What makes you want to dance and thank God? Could your joy be a parade someone else needs to see?

🌸 Japanese Kimono & Cherry Blossom Whispers

Gentle Moments from a God Who Loves Beauty in Stillness

My next outfit? A cherry-blossom-covered kimono that swirled like petal poetry. Yaya said kimono patterns show off the seasons, and mine whispered “Spring is singing!”

In my teacup dreamland, Fluffy and I sat under a blooming tree. The air was quiet, except for the bubble-glug of green tea and the rustle-shuffle of silky fabric. “This feels like a prayer with pink petals,” I told Fluffy, who nodded wisely from his flower petal cushion.

We imagined stories about samurai, kindness swords, and songs sung with fans.

“Be still, and know that I am God.” — Psalm 46:10

Have you ever felt God’s peace in a quiet moment? What smells or sounds make you feel safe and still?

💛 Indian Sari & Elephant-Ear Elegance

A Wedding of Colors and Celebrations of Faith

Last twirl of the day? A sari so full of swishes and sparkles, even Fluffy gasped. “Saris are worn for special days like weddings,” Yaya said, gently helping me wrap the bright cloth.

In my imagination, I joined a wedding parade—dancing to joyful music, clapping with the crowd, tasting sweet gulab jamun (they’re like cinnamon snuggles!), and riding an invisible flower-covered elephant with Fluffernutter waving like a bunny prince.

🎉 “We make delightfully dazzling wedding guests!” I giggled.

“Rejoice with those who rejoice.” — Romans 12:15

Have you ever worn something special for a celebration? How can your joy honor others and show God’s love?

🎨 Alice’s Costume Creation Adventure

🌍 Where Sparkles, Snacks, and God’s Colors Collide!

After my Grand Parade of Costumes (which Fluffernutter called “The Glittery Tour of Global Giggles”), I had a super-sparkle idea…

🎀 “Wait, wait, WAIT—what if I made my own wonder-costume using a little piece of every culture?”

So I grabbed my Craft Basket of Magical Possibilities and started snipping, pinning, glue-dabbing, and ribbon-twirling like a fairy on a mission.

“God gave me two hands, a big imagination, and a whole pile of glitter. That’s basically a holy recipe for creativity!”

Here’s what I used in my DIY global costume celebration:

  • 🏴 A tartan sash from Scotland (because kilts = swirl power)
  • 🎉 Feathers from Brazil’s Carnival (for maximum twirlability)
  • 🌸 Cherry blossom pins from Japan (soft as a secret giggle)
  • ✨ Golden bangles from India (jingle-jangle JOY power)

Each piece was stitched with God-powered imagination and a teensy bit of glittery glue in my hair (oops).

🌟 One Outfit. All the Festivals. Infinite Joy.

When I put it all on, I didn’t just wear a costume—I time-swirl-teleported into every celebration at once!

🏰 One minute I was dancing in the hills of Scotland.
💃 Then I was samba-ing through Brazil.
🍵 A blink later I was sipping tea beneath cherry blossoms.
🐘 And THEN I was waving from a flower-covered elephant in India!

Every step felt like a page from a storybook of traditions—but one God wrote with colors, cultures, and kindness.

“We are many parts of one body, and we all belong to each other.” — Romans 12:5

🎨 I didn’t just dress up—I celebrated the beautiful way God made us different, but united by His love.

🤔 Wonder Time!

How can we use our creativity to share God’s love across the world?

Have you ever made your own costume or outfit? What would it say about you?

Which culture or tradition would you love to learn more about?

🌈 What Costumes Can Teach Us

✝️ God’s Joy Comes in Every Color, Pattern, and Puff of Glitter

After my world-whirling costume parade, something inside me felt extra squishy and sparkly. Not just because of the glitter in my ears (oops again), but because I learned a very big thing in my tiny dancing shoes…

“Costumes aren’t just for dress-up. They’re like God’s postcards from people all over the planet!”

Each outfit was more than buttons and fabric—it was a story stitched in celebration. A twirl of tradition. A swirl of songs and smells and smiles. A hello from a friend I hadn’t met yet.

🎀 Yaya said, “Costumes are like passports to imagination. They let us travel anywhere.”

And she’s RIGHT. When I wore a tartan kilt, I could feel the music of the bagpipes in my bones. With Brazilian feathers, I danced like a firecracker. My kimono felt like a flower hug. My sari? A swirl of sunshine and sparkle!

🧵 Every Thread Tells a Story of God’s Creative Heart

From the colorful celebrations of Carnival to the quiet petals of a Japanese tea ceremony, I learned that God made the world like a giant costume chest—full of people, traditions, and beautiful differences that can bring us together.

Each time we try on something from another place, we’re saying, “I want to understand your joy. I want to celebrate with you.”

“Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor.” — Romans 12:10

So maybe… costumes are like hugs you wear. They wrap you in someone else’s story and remind you:
🎉 “Hey, God made you! And He made you colorful ON PURPOSE!”

🤔 Time for Big-Wonder Questions!

What do you think Heaven’s “Celebration of Nations” will look like?

Have you ever worn something that made you feel connected to someone else’s culture?

How can we use costumes to show respect, curiosity, and love for God’s world?

✂️ Design Your Own Global-Inspired Costume

🎨 Let’s Doodle, Decorate, and Dream Across God’s World!

Okay, sparkly explorers! Ready to make your very own magical costume that celebrates God’s colorful creativity across the globe? Mr. Fluffernutter and I call this activity our Bunny-Approved Cultural Costume Creator! 🐰✨

“God made every culture with colors, traditions, and tales worth celebrating!” — Me (and probably also Yaya)

🧰 What You’ll Need:

  • Paper (big enough for BIG dreams!)
  • Crayons, markers, or colored pencils
  • Ribbons, fabric scraps, buttons, stickers, glitter (Yaya says optional, I say mandatory)
  • A super-imaginary mind and maybe a glue stick with superpowers

🎨 How to Make Your Joy-Swirl Outfit:

  1. Draw a Person Template
You can trace around your hand and turn it into a dancing dress-up doodle—or ask a grown-up to help draw a person shape.
  2. Add Global Costume Elements
Mix and match fun pieces from different cultures! A Scottish sash? A Carnival crown? Cherry blossom sleeves? Elephant bells? YES to all!
  3. Decorate Wildly
Use the most joyful colors! Make patterns that zigzag, twirl, and bloom. Add feathers, stars, or hearts that sparkle like kindness.
  4. Name Your Costume
Something like “The Royal Rainbow Parade of Friendship Outfit” or “Captain Curiosity’s Culture Cloak” works great.
  5. Imagine Your Journey
Where does your outfit take you? What do you see, taste, and hear? What story does your costume tell?

“Whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” — 1 Corinthians 10:31

💬 What If…?

  • What if your costume let you fly to a new country and make a friend there?
  • What if each pattern told a part of your story—and part of God’s big story too?
  • What kind things could your costume remind people of? Joy? Peace? Togetherness?

🎭 Why Costumes Are Magical

🌍 Because Every Twirl Tells a Story—and Every Thread Sings God’s Joy!

My Global Costume Parade of Joy and Jellybeans™ reminded me of something super-duper important…

“God didn’t just create the stars and sea—He dressed the world in cultures, colors, and celebrations that twirl with wonder!”

Whether I’m samba-dancing in Carnival feathers, Highland-flipping in a tartan kilt, or sipping tea under cherry blossoms in a kimono, each outfit wraps me in a story. A story that connects hearts across oceans and snack tables.

Costumes aren’t just about dress-up—they’re a way to celebrate God’s creativity and honor the beautiful differences He designed in each of us.

“After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude… from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne…” — Revelation 7:9

That means Heaven might be a GIANT costume party of love, where every celebration shows how big God’s heart really is!

🌈 Wanna Join My Next Parade?

What about YOU? If you could make your own global-inspired costume…

  • What colors and patterns would you choose?
  • What story would your outfit tell about who God made you to be?
  • Where would your imagination take you? A mountain dance? A desert drumming circle? A forest full of floating lanterns?

Mr. Fluffernutter says we should start planning the next “God’s Great Big Costume Parade of Friendship!” 🐰✨

Until next time, keep dreaming with your crayons, building bridges with your buttons, and celebrating the way God made every culture to shine.
