Preach the Word: Faith Through Every Season

Alice standing hand-in-hand with Fluffernutter, gazing at a magical landscape divided into spring blossoms, summer sun, autumn leaves, and winter snow, symbolizing faith through every season

By Alice

Hiya, Faith Explorers! It’s me—Alice, pirate queen of peanut butter prayers, butterfly translator, and High Commander of Fluffernutter’s Bunny Brigade! 🐰 Last night’s Bible time felt like opening a treasure chest full of invisible fireworks and holy whispers. Even Bash (that’s our schnauzer) looked impressed—and he usually just snores through everything.

Daddy read a super-secret letter from Paul to Timothy—2 Timothy 4:1–5! I thought it was gonna be about scrolls or sword fights or maybe a snack recipe (a girl can dream), but instead—it was a bravery map for telling the truth about Jesus in every kind of season. Springy ones. Stormy ones. Even the ones where you feel like a grumpy pickle with cold socks.

Paul said, “Preach the Word…in season and out of season!” And I was like, “Wait—do Bible seasons come with sparkly leaves or tiny umbrella hats?” Fluffernutter just blinked slowly like wise bunnies do and whispered, “Every season counts when your heart is full of Jesus.” Then I drew him wearing a scarf made of faith.

We talked about how hard it can be to speak up when things feel squishy or scary or like someone just popped your balloon. But those are the exact moments God uses to grow faith-glue inside your soul. Mommy said faith isn’t always loud—it can be whisper-strong. And Yaya said sometimes standing still in truth is braver than climbing dragon stairs in roller skates. I don’t really get that one, but I drew it anyway.

So here’s what I know:
When we share God’s love—even in the “icky pickles” of life—we shine brighter than moonlight on glitter. And with Fluffernutter at my side, I’m learning to be brave in every season.

Wanna come hop with us through snowflakes, thunderstorms, and jellybean breezes of faith? Let’s go preach with our hearts, dance with the truth, and maybe…wear sticker armor while we do it. 💖📖

🌟 What Does It Mean to Preach the Word? (Even if You’re Wearing Mismatched Socks)

So… Paul told Timothy to “Preach the Word—whether it’s convenient or not!” (2 Timothy 4:2).
And I was like, “Wait, what if you’re in the bathtub or eating a peanut butter pickle sandwich?!”

Yaya smiled all gentle and wise-like (she always smells like cinnamon tea when she teaches stuff) and said,
“Preaching isn’t only what a pastor does on a stage. It’s how we show God’s love every day—at the store, on the playground, even when you’re helping clean up glitter glue spills.”

Fluffernutter whispered, “Even bunnies can preach. They just do it quietly with their fluff.”

Here’s what we learned:
Sharing the gospel doesn’t always mean shouting from a microphone. It might mean…

  • 🧼 Helping someone when no one’s watching
  • 💌 Saying something kind when someone feels squishy-sad
  • 🛡️ Staying true to what you believe, even if it feels hard or awkward

🐾 Bunny-Sized Bravery in Everyday Life

Ariel asked, “So we can share Jesus even if we’re scared or shy?”

Daddy gave his wise-nod (you know the one) and said,
“Yes! God calls us to be faithful—even when it feels difficult. That’s when our light shines brightest.”

🌈 “The way we act when life is hard? That’s one of the loudest ways we preach without using words.”
(You can totally doodle that as a poster. I did!)

Sometimes, preaching the Word looks like sitting beside a lonely classmate.
Or whispering a prayer for someone who’s hurting.
Or doing the right thing when everybody else is zigzagging the wrong way.

Those tiny moments? They’re like holy puzzle pieces.
Each one shows someone what Jesus’ love really feels like.

💭 Let’s Wonder Together

What’s one small thing you could do today to live out your faith?

Have you ever shared kindness when it was really hard?

Do you think God can use your quiet actions to teach someone about His love?

A vibrant split-scene artwork of a bearded prophet with contrasting seasons, ocean waves, and sunlight representing the message “Be Ready in Every Season”

🍂 Be Ready in Every Season (Even If It’s Jellybean Season)

So guess what? Paul told Timothy to “Preach the Word. Be ready in season and out of season.”
(That’s from 2 Timothy 4:2, and yes—it totally sounds like something a superhero would say before handing you a Bible and a cape.)

I scrunched my nose and whispered to Fluffernutter,
“Wait, what if you’re in your pajamas and someone needs to hear about Jesus?”
He blinked once (very seriously) and nodded.

Daddy said,
“It means we should always be prepared to share the gospel—whether it’s easy, hard, cozy, or weird.”

Sometimes it’s like wearing rainbow socks and sunshine.
Other times, it’s more like stepping on LEGOs barefoot while trying to be brave.

But guess what? God’s truth never changes. Yaya says,
“The gospel is always ready—even when we’re not. Whether someone is joyful or sad, confused or celebrating, Jesus is always the answer.”
(She said it while stirring tea, which made it sound even wiser.)

🕯️ Shining Your Light When It Feels Dark or Ordinary

Ariel (a.k.a. Super Smart Sister) asked, “So we should share Jesus even when it’s awkward or inconvenient?”

Daddy nodded,
“Exactly. Sharing the gospel is about faithfulness, not waiting for the perfect moment. Even tiny kindnesses can open a big door to God’s love.”

So now I imagine little “faith seeds” popping out of my backpack wherever I go—at church, school, the grocery cart with the squeaky wheel, or even in the bathtub if it’s one of those days.

Here’s the truth:
You might not see your kindness grow right away. But every prayer, every hug, every sticker note that says “Jesus loves you”—God sees it all.
And He’s the best gardener in the whole universe.

💫 Let’s Wiggle and Wonder

What “faith seeds” can you plant this week?

Have you ever helped someone even when it wasn’t easy or fun?

Can you think of a time you shared Jesus with someone in a surprising way?

A detailed illustration of Jesus holding an open Bible, surrounded by a diverse crowd and animals, under the caption “Teach with Patience and Love”

🌱 Teach with Patience and Love (Even if You’re Waiting on a Jellybean Plant)

So Paul wrote to Timothy again and said something super big and fancy-sounding like:

“Reprove, rebuke, and exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.” — 2 Timothy 4:2

Which made me blink three times and ask Fluffernutter,
“Did he just say rebuke the jellybeans?”
Fluffernutter didn’t even flinch. He just patted my arm like, “Let’s slow this train down.”

Daddy translated it for normal bunny-brained folks like me:
“It means we should gently correct, encourage, and teach others with love and patience—while always pointing to God’s truth.”

So basically… when someone’s a little lost or confused or super loud about wrong things, we don’t throw glitter at them or stomp off.
We take a deep breath (like Yaya does before tea) and we keep showing Jesus anyway. 💕

🪴 Love Grows Slow (But Strong)

Yaya said,
“Not everyone understands the gospel right away. Some hearts are like gardens in winter—they need warmth, kindness, and time to bloom.”

Ariel leaned in and asked, “So even if someone doesn’t listen, we keep trying?”

Daddy nodded (he does that when truth is incoming):
“Yes, sweetie. We keep loving, keep sharing, and trust that God is working—even if we can’t see the sprouts yet.”

I imagined a field full of invisible faith-flowers.
Maybe you don’t see them right away, but wow—they’re totally there, sipping on sunlight and Scripture.

Sometimes you’ll feel like nothing’s happening.
Like you’re watering a rock.
Or talking to a couch cushion.

But God?
He’s always doing something invisible and amazing underneath.

🌼 Questions to Wonder With

What’s one way you can teach or encourage someone with gentleness this week?

Have you ever planted something and had to wait forever for it to grow?

Can you think of a person who showed you love even when you were cranky or confused?

A dynamic image of a prophet walking boldly through a dramatic landscape with rays of light and the message “Endure Hardships, Stay Committed”

💪 Endure Hardships and Stay Committed (Even If the Path Has Lava Tiles)

So guess what Paul told Timothy next? He said:

“But you, be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.” — 2 Timothy 4:5

Whoa. That sounds like serious quest-talk. I mean, “endure afflictions”? That’s like… still showing kindness when you’re hangry or keeping your Bible open when your room feels like a dragon cave.

Yaya said it best:
“Preaching the gospel isn’t always easy, but God gives us the strength to stay faithful.”
(She said it while holding her mug like a courage potion.)

And I thought:
“Wait… what if your knees feel wobbly and your voice hides behind your teeth?”
So Ariel asked for me:
“What if it feels scary to share the gospel?”

Daddy smiled and said,
“That’s when you lean on God’s grace. He gives courage like a backpack full of bravery snacks.”
(Okay, maybe not snacks, but I like the image.)

🐾 Faith Is Bravery With Bunny Feet

Sometimes it’s hard to speak up. Your heart might thump like a bongo drum, and your mouth might go all spaghetti.

But here’s the good news:
God is always right beside you.
Like the best teammate ever—strong, gentle, and never too tired to carry the heavy stuff.

So if you’re in a moment that feels ouchy, awkward, or even a little volcano-y—take a deep breath and remember:
You’re never alone when you’re sharing His truth.

Even just saying, “Jesus loves you,” or helping someone who feels invisible—that counts as powerful gospel-sharing.

And when we do it together—as friends, families, bunny brigades, and sprinkle-hearted believers—it gets a whole lot easier.

🌈 Let’s Ponder and Pray

What’s one small act of courage you could try this week—maybe with a friend?

Have you ever been nervous to talk about your faith?

Who helps you feel brave when things get hard?

🐰 How I Plan to Preach the Word (One Bunny Hop at a Time)

After all our Bible-time talk and peanut-buttery thinking last night, I came up with an official, glitter-approved plan! Because being a mini evangelist doesn’t mean I need a microphone or a seminary degree. It means doing what Paul told Timothy in 2 Timothy 4:2:

“Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction.”

So here’s what I scribbled in my “Fluffernutter Faith Log” (it smells like grape markers and tiny dreams):

📚 Be Ready (Even During Lunch Breaks or Recess Races)

  • Look for little moments where God’s love might peek out—like when a friend is sad and needs a verse hug
  • Share a Bible verse that cheered me up… maybe Psalm 56:3: “When I am afraid, I put my trust in You.”
  • Smile like Jesus is standing behind me giving bunny ears. (Because He might be.)

🌼 Share with Patience (Even If They Think You Said “Cheesus”)

  • Use kind, soft words when I talk about Jesus—no shoving, shouting, or megaphone hats
  • Be okay if someone doesn’t understand right away (even I thought “grace” was a ballet move at first)
  • Trust God to grow seeds I can’t even see yet (He’s sneaky in the best way)

🐾 Stay Faithful (Even When It Feels Like You’re the Only One with Sticker Armor)

  • Keep hopping forward, even if the day is melty or muddy
  • Remember that tiny steps of faith—like prayer, kindness, or helping carry a backpack—are giant in heaven
  • Know God is always beside me, even if I forget to say “Amen” at the end of my prayer snack

💖 Let’s Imagine and Reflect

  • What’s one kind or brave thing you could do today to show someone God’s love?
  • Have you ever seen someone’s heart grow slowly like a garden?
  • If you made your own “Preaching Plan,” what would be the first thing on it?

✂️ Craft Time: Gospel Reminder Cards (a.k.a. Pocket-Sized Love-Explosions)

Okay, team—grab your sparkly pens and sticker squads, because we’re about to make Gospel Reminder Cards! These are like mini superpower scrolls you can tuck in your backpack, Bible, lunchbox, or even your shoe (okay, maybe not your shoe unless it’s very clean). 🐰💌

Why? Because Paul said in 2 Timothy 4:2:

“Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season.”
And Fluffernutter whispered, “Let’s stay ready with sparkles.” So we did!

🎨 What You’ll Need:

  • 🗂️ Index cards (or paper scraps shaped like treasure maps!)
  • 🖍️ Markers, crayons, or colored pencils—the more colors, the better!
  • ✨ Stickers and doodle magic—hearts, crosses, bunny faces, and glittery sunshine encouraged!

🛠️ How to Make Gospel Reminder Cards

  1. Pick a verse about sharing the gospel
Try this one to start: “Preach the Word… in season and out of season.” — 2 Timothy 4:2
Or choose any verse that makes your heart do a happy dance!
  2. Write the verse on your card
Make your handwriting big and bold (or teeny and sneaky—your choice).
  3. Decorate your card like it’s going to a Royal Parade of Faith
Add smiley faces, rainbow trails, Jesus fish, sparkle rays, or anything that reminds you of God’s love!
  4. Tuck your card into your pocket, pencil pouch, or bunny satchel
It’ll remind you to be ready to share Jesus’ love—at the park, at the store, even in your blanket fort!
  5. Bonus Bunny Mission:
Make extra cards and give one to a friend who needs a hug made of words. You never know whose heart might need a little gospel sunshine that day!

💡 Let’s Imagine and Reflect

  • If you made a Gospel Reminder Card today, who would you give it to?
  • What Bible verse always makes you feel brave and seen?
  • How can your creativity help others feel God’s love?

🙏 A Prayer for Faithfulness (Fluffernutter Helped Too)

Last night before bed, Fluffernutter and I snuggled into our story fort (under three pillows, a flashlight, and a unicorn blanket) and said this prayer together. He wore his “Very Serious Prayer Face” and everything.

🐰✨ Our Gospel-Sharing Prayer

“Dear Jesus,
Thank You for inviting us to share Your Word with the world—even when we feel wobbly or weird.
Help us be ready, even on Mondays.
Teach us to speak with love, listen with kindness, and stay faithful even when it’s tough.
Give us wisdom that sparkles like sunlight on jelly jars,
and the gentleness to help others feel seen, safe, and loved.
Thank You for brave hearts and bunny hugs.
Please let our words shine with hope,
and our actions sprinkle joy like confetti-shaped grace.
Amen.”

Fluffernutter whispered “Amen” too—very softly, like a marshmallow.

💌 Your Turn: Be Faithful, Be Kind, Be Wonderfully You

Wanna join the Bunny Brigade of Faithfulness this week?
Fluffernutter and I made a sparkle-scribbled scroll of brave and beautiful ideas you can try at home, school, or wherever your jellybean boots take you.

These tiny acts of love are how we stand by others—just like Onesiphorus did for Paul.
And guess what? They’re also how we shine God’s light with bunny-sized bravery. 🌟🐰

🌳 Make a Faithfulness Tree

Every leaf = one act of kindness or loyalty. You can…

  • Hug someone who’s having a hard day
  • Do a chore without being asked (even the icky ones!)
  • Write “God loves you!” on a sticky note and surprise someone

Soon, your tree will look like a forest of faith!

🎀 Stand Up for a Friend

If someone’s left out, sad, or picked on… hop over and include them.
Say:

“Wanna sit with me?”
“You’re not alone!”
“Jesus thinks you’re super awesome—and so do I.”

Until next time… keep hopping forward, hugging the truth, and sharing sparkle-hearted faith with the whole wide world. 🐇✨

With bunny love and brave prayers,
Alice 🐰💖
