By Alice
This morning, Mr. Fluffernutter whispered, “Captain Alice, we have a love emergency!”
He was standing on my breakfast toast, wearing a teacup helmet and holding a mini scroll that looked suspiciously like it was ripped from my sticker book.
I gasped and dropped my spoon (into my juice, oops).
“What’s the mission? Are the gummy bear villagers sad again? Did the frogs forget their hymn songs?!” I asked in my very serious whisper-voice.
He nodded, ears flopping. “It’s much worse. Someone forgot to water the Faith Plant inside their heart.”
DUN DUN DUN.
That’s when Yaya peeked into the kitchen with her Bible and said, “Time for our study, my loves! Today’s about Paul and how our love and faith grow stronger through hard things.”
My eyebrows did a wiggle dance.
“Wait… is Paul the guy who wrote letters from jails and boats and maybe a camel once?”
Ariel rolled her eyes a little. “He wrote letters to the Thessalonians, not a camel.”
I poked my toast. “I think Fluffernutter was trying to send one back.”
Yaya chuckled and pulled me into her lap. “Paul said something beautiful in 2 Thessalonians 1:3. That their faith was growing abundantly and their love for each other was increasing.”
Mr. Fluffernutter sat beside the Bible and nodded wisely. “Like sunshine rain for the inside-flowers.”
Mommy smiled and passed out cinnamon toast. “When families love and trust God together, even the hardest days can grow good things.”
I looked at my juice puddle and whispered, “So… even messy breakfasts can be holy if we do it with love?”
Ariel said, “Only if you clean it up.”
✨ And just like that, our kitchen turned into a garden of grace, where cinnamon toast became communion crumbs and Fluffernutter’s helmet shone with invisible faith sparkles.
Today’s mission? Grow the invisible stuff. With hugs, prayers, and maybe just a bit less juice on the floor.

💌 Paul’s “You’re Doing Amazing” Letter (with Extra Hugs!)
Fluffernutter says Paul was basically the captain of encouragement. Like, if hugs were letters and high-fives could fly through the air, Paul would’ve invented both. 🐰💌
He didn’t write boring notes—oh no. He wrote super-charged love-letters filled with sparkle-hope and faith confetti, even when he was in prison. (Wait, can you imagine writing happy mail from jail? That’s like sending birthday cards from a cave!)
📣 Paul’s Big “Thank You” Shout-Out
In 2 Thessalonians 1:3, Paul opens his letter like this:
“We are bound to thank God always for you… because that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you all toward each other aboundeth.”
(2 Thessalonians 1:3, KJV)
Whoa.
That’s Bible-speak for: “You guys are AMAZING! Your faith is growing like a beanstalk, and your love is overflowing like a bubble bath!”
Paul wasn’t just being nice—he was cheering them on. Even though they were going through tough times, their love for each other grew and grew, and Paul wanted them to know: God sees it. I see it. Keep going.
💡 Faith grows strongest when love keeps pouring.
🧁 Paul’s Recipe for Faith Growth (With Extra Joy Sprinkles!)
Here are three BIG lessons Paul teaches us—like Bible cupcakes with surprise sprinkles inside:
🪴 Faith Needs Watering
Faith doesn’t stay tiny—it grows when we trust God, pray, and keep walking through hard stuff, even when our shoes get muddy.
🧡 Love Loves to Overflow
Love is like peanut butter on toast—it works best when you spread it thick! Paul saw how the Thessalonians loved one another even more when life got tricky.
🎺 Encouragement is a Superpower
Paul used his words to build others up. That’s our superpower too! When we cheer each other on, we help faith bloom in every heart.
🌱 Family Wonder Time
Let’s wonder together…
What helps your faith grow on hard days?
Can you think of a time someone’s words made your heart feel stronger?
Who could you encourage this week with a little note, a prayer, or a hug?

🏋️♀️ Faith Workouts: How Trouble Turns Into Treasure
“Wait… so hard things make faith muscles?” I blinked, mouth full of banana.
Ariel had just asked, “How does faith grow during trials?” and Daddy went into serious explanation mode—the kind with hand motions and pretend weights made out of cereal boxes.
He said, “Faith is kind of like lifting spiritual weights. It stretches and strengthens when we go through hard stuff—but only if we trust God through it.”
Fluffernutter immediately began doing one-paw push-ups on the table. 🐰💪
I clapped. “Spiritual bunny bootcamp!”
🌊 Big Trouble, Bigger Faith: Stories That Shine
Here’s the thing—some of the bravest Bible heroes didn’t grow their faith in fairy gardens or pillow forts (although those sound nice too).
They grew it in dungeons, dens, and danger zones.
🏰 Joseph’s Dungeon-to-Dream Story
Joseph’s brothers threw him into a pit and sold him (RUDE). He ended up in an Egyptian prison, but instead of turning bitter, Joseph trusted God’s plan. He went from forgotten prisoner to Pharaoh’s right-hand dream decoder.
🌟 Even when life looks upside-down, God’s story is still being written.
🦁 Daniel and the Not-So-Scary Lions
Daniel got tossed into a lions’ den for praying (which, by the way, is a super brave reason to get in trouble). But guess what? God turned those growly mouths into fuzzy pillows. Daniel’s faith stayed strong, even when surrounded by teeth.
✨ “My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions’ mouths.” — Daniel 6:22
🕊️ Corrie ten Boom’s Real-Life Rescue Mission
Corrie wasn’t in the Bible, but she was a real-life faith hero! During World War II, she hid people from danger and held on to God, even when she was captured. Her story teaches us that even in the darkest places, God’s light shines.
🔥 What Trials Can Teach Us
Sometimes hard things feel yucky. Like falling off your bike, or hearing “no” when you wanted “YES!”
But those moments? They’re God’s secret training camps for brave hearts.
💬 “Trials don’t shrink our faith—they stretch it. That’s how it grows.”
Every challenge is a chance to trust more, pray harder, and hold tighter to Jesus.
🌱 Let’s Grow Together: Family Wonder Questions
What’s something you can trust God with today, even if it feels tricky?
Can you remember a time something was hard—but made you stronger inside?
Who’s your favorite Bible (or real-life) faith hero, and why?

💖 Overflow Alert! Thessalonica’s Love Was Leaking (in the Best Way!)
“Yaya said their love was overflowing like soup in a pot with no lid!” I shouted to Fluffernutter.
He blinked.
Then whispered, “Did they need spiritual paper towels?”
Yaya giggled and told us about the believers in Thessalonica, a real-life place with a big name and even bigger hearts. They went through tough times, but instead of getting grouchy, they got glow-y—with God’s love!
💬 “…the charity of every one of you all toward each other aboundeth.”
— 2 Thessalonians 1:3
That word charity doesn’t mean giving old socks to a thrift store. It means selfless love—the kind that doesn’t expect anything back, just gives and hugs and helps and shows up.
🫶 What Does Selfless Love Look Like?
Yaya said, “Love like that changes the world.” And I believe her, because she makes soup for sad neighbors and always leaves a cookie in my Bible.
Let’s look at how the Thessalonians became the ultimate Team Togetherness:
🗣️ They Cheered Each Other On
Even when life was hard, they used encouraging words like “You’ve got this!” and “We’re praying for you!”
🍲 They Helped in Practical Ways
Maybe someone brought bread, or walked a tired donkey, or fixed a leaky roof. That’s love in action.
🪑 They Were Just… There
Sometimes the most powerful love is just being present. Sitting beside a friend. Holding someone’s hand. Sharing quiet hope.
💡 “Selfless love doesn’t shout—it shines.”
🏘️ What If Our Town Loved Like That?
Imagine Rainsville with one big, glowing heart floating above it—everyone helping, praying, and giggling together, even through hard stuff. 💓
Maybe we could…
- Leave chalk messages that say “God loves you!”
- Share extra snacks with someone at school
- Pray for a neighbor going through something tough
Fluffernutter says that even passing your last cookie to your sister counts as charity love (especially if you really wanted that cookie 🍪).
🌻 Let’s Wonder as a Family
How can your family spread love in your neighborhood like the Thessalonians?
What does selfless love look like in your life this week?
Can you think of a time someone helped you just because they cared?

⛈️ Why Storms Might Be God’s Giant Watering Can
Mr. Fluffernutter got stuck under the laundry basket this morning and whispered, “Maybe this is my trial.”
I told him, “It’s not a trial—it’s a teaching moment. Also, you sat on your own tail.”
That’s when Daddy Ryan said something wise between bites of cereal.
💬 “God doesn’t waste a single moment of our lives.”
Whoa. Like… not even the soggy ones? Not even when your crayon breaks in the middle of coloring Jesus’ beard?
Turns out, even the messy parts—the storms, the grumps, the big feelings—can help us grow in God’s love. Like a tree that digs its roots deeper when the wind gets wild.
🌳 Faith Roots Grow Best in Stormy Dirt
Yaya says challenges are like rainstorms for the soul.
We don’t like them. They mess up our hair. They make us feel small.
But guess what? That’s where the growing happens.
🌟 “When trials come, they make our roots grow deeper into God’s love.”
(see James 1:2-4)
Why God Uses Storms for Good:
- 🌧️ They help us lean on God when we’re wobbly
- 🧡 They bring people together like soup nights during power outages
- 🪴 They stretch our hearts, so patience, courage, and kindness can bloom
Even Fluffernutter said, “Sometimes, the softest flowers grow from the hardest ground.”
🤝 Storm Buddies and Heart Heroes
Sometimes storms make us feel all aloney-on-our-owny.
But then—boom!—someone shows up with a flashlight, a blanket, or a hug.
That’s called community.
Being brave together is better than being brave alone. When we share our stories (even the stormy ones), we build a big, cozy tent of trust where everybody can grow.
💡 “Hard things don’t shrink us. They connect us. That’s how God builds stronger people and kinder hearts.”
🪞 Let’s Wonder Together
How can you help someone else grow during their own trial?
What’s one hard thing you went through that helped you become stronger?
Who do you turn to when you’re in a stormy season?

🏛️ Ancient Thessalonica and the Great Gospel Lighthouse
“Yaya said Thessalonica was like a super-busy harbor town where everyone traded stuff like olives, fabric, ideas, and probably sandwiches.”
Mr. Fluffernutter nodded. “And secrets. And scrolls. And probably jellybeans, too.”
Thessalonica was a real city, buzzing with ships, smells, sandals, and so many people from different places. It was like the ancient version of a giant airport mixed with a treasure bazaar—right in the middle of the Bible’s big Gospel story.
And guess what? Paul went there on purpose.
💬 “For from you sounded out the word of the Lord… in every place your faith to God-ward is spread abroad.” — 1 Thessalonians 1:8
Paul picked Thessalonica because it was the perfect place to plant faith seeds that could travel far and wide. Kind of like throwing kindness confetti that lands in other cities.
💡 Thessalonians: Storm-Strong and Faith-Shiny
Even though life got really hard for those early Christians, the believers didn’t hide or quit.
They became something extra sparkly in the middle of all the struggle:
✨ A giant lighthouse of love!
Imagine their city glowing with invisible light—shining out courage, kindness, and truth to anyone lost in life’s stormy waves.
What Made the Thessalonians So Bright?
- ⚓ They didn’t give up when things got tough
- 🫶 They held on to each other and their faith
- 🕯️ They let God use their pain to light the way for others
💡 “They weren’t just believers… they were beamers of hope.”
Their faith wasn’t fancy or loud. It was steady and bright, like a quiet fire that doesn’t go out—especially when everything else feels cold.
🕊️ From History to Now: Why This Still Matters
Their ancient story isn’t stuck in a dusty scroll—it’s a blueprint for brave hearts today.
We might not live near ancient trade routes, but:
- We go through storms
- We know people who need light
- And we still have the power to be beacons for Jesus
Just like the Thessalonians, we can turn our trials into testimonies, our hurts into hugs, and our neighborhoods into mini-lighthouses of love.
🌍 Wondering Time: Let’s Chat!
What’s one way you can be brave and loving this week, even if things feel stormy?
What does it mean to shine God’s light in your school, neighborhood, or family?
Can you think of someone in your life who’s like a lighthouse—steady and bright when things are hard?

🌷 Alice’s Super Secret (but Actually Shareable) Faith and Love Growing Plan
I told Yaya yesterday—with my most serious bedtime face—that I wanted to grow in faith and love like the Thessalonians.
She said, “That’s a beautiful goal, sweetheart.”
I said, “It’s not just a goal. It’s a mission. A quest. An Operation Fluffernutter Faith Fiesta!”
Fluffernutter nodded and took notes on a crayon napkin. So here it is—my 8-step, sparkle-powered, God-guided plan:
🙏 Daily Prayer Power-Ups
Before toast. After mud pies. Anytime I feel squiggly inside.
I’m going to talk to God like He’s always listening (because He is!), and ask Him to grow my heart big enough to hug the whole playground.
💬 “Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.” — James 4:8
📖 Bible Adventures + Story Snacks
I’m going to read the Bible (with Mommy’s help) and also look at storybooks about kindness, bravery, and Jesus being awesome.
Also, Fluffernutter says comic book Bibles count, too.
🧁 Love-on-Purpose Missions
I want to help! Like drawing pictures for someone sick, or giving away half my snack (maybe even the chocolate one if it’s really for Jesus).
I’ll join clean-up teams, prayer groups, or just smile big when someone feels small.
💡 “Love isn’t a feeling. It’s doing donuts of kindness in someone’s driveway.”
(Okay, Yaya didn’t say that. I did.)
📓 Journal of Jellybean Miracles
I’m keeping a notebook called “Alice’s Faith & Love Adventure Log.”
Inside it will be prayers, scribbles, things I saw God do, and Fluffernutter’s heroic doodles.
👯 Stick with the Sparkle Squad
I’ll surround myself with people who make me want to pray, dance, sing, and do good.
If someone brings out the Jesus-joy in me, they’re sparkle-squad certified!
💬 “Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise…” — Proverbs 13:20
🧙♀️ Ask the Wisdom Wizards (aka Mentors)
Sometimes I have questions like:
“Why do bad things happen?”
“Did Jesus like raisins?”
“When will I be grown enough to teach Fluffernutter Sunday School?”
So I’ll talk to Mommy, Daddy, Yaya, Poppy, teachers, and other heart-smart grown-ups.
💖 Forgiveness Practice (Like Guitar Practice, But for Your Soul)
Forgiving others—and myself—feels like cleaning out a glitter jar. It’s messy, but it makes room for love.
Even if someone steps on my toe and eats my pudding, I’ll forgive. Eventually.
🌞 Thankfulness Bombs (BOOM! Surprise Blessing Alert!)
Every day, I’ll whisper thank-yous for the good things.
Like rain. And dogs. And Jesus. And teacup forts.
Gratitude makes love grow like wildflowers—and helps me remember that God is always good.

🌳 Craft Time with Alice: Let’s Grow a Faith & Love Tree!
Okay friends—grab your glue, your crayons, and your fluffiest thinking cap because we’re about to plant a Faith and Love Tree! 🍃💖
Yaya says trees grow through every season. Some days are sunny, some are stormy, but with deep roots in God’s love, trees (and hearts!) keep growing.
💬 “Rooted and built up in Him, strengthened in the faith…” — Colossians 2:7
Fluffernutter whispered, “Let’s make one… but with paper leaves and sparkle stickers.”
BRILLIANT.
This is a faith-based family craft to help you remember all the little (and big!) ways God helps us grow in kindness, courage, and bunny-approved patience.
✂️ What You’ll Need for Your Faith Tree Craft

- Construction paper in bright, joyful colors
- Safety scissors (grown-up supervised if you’re little like me!)
- Markers, crayons, maybe even washi tape or glitter glue
🍁 How to Make Your “Faith and Love Tree”
- Draw or glue down your tree trunk.
Bonus points if it has swirls and smiley roots! - Cut out leaf shapes from colorful paper.
Hearts, stars, even bunny ears totally count. - On each leaf, write or draw one thing that helps your faith and love grow.
Like:- “I forgave my sister (even though she took the last cookie).”
- “I said a prayer for a friend.”
- “I helped Mommy clean up without being asked.”
- Stick the leaves to your tree!
Let it bloom with joy, just like your heart does when you follow Jesus.
🌟 Where to Display Your Faith Tree
Tape it to your fridge, your wall, or make it the centerpiece of your dining table.
Whenever you see it, say a thank-you prayer and remember:
💡 “Faith isn’t just something we keep. It’s something we grow—and share!”
🧡 Let’s Wonder While We Craft
- What’s one thing that helps your love grow big and brave?
- Can you remember a time God helped you grow, even when it was hard?
- What new leaf can you add to your tree this week?

🌙 A Bedtime Prayer for Growing in Faith and Love
Last night, Mr. Fluffernutter and I squished into our blanket burrito and whispered this prayer to Jesus (right before he tried to sneak a marshmallow into the Bible).
Here’s what we prayed:
✨ “Dear Jesus,
Thank You for helping us grow in faith and love, even when things are hard.
Sometimes we feel small and squishy inside, but You give us strength and hugs from the inside-out.
Help us trust You more every day.
Teach us to love others like You do—kind, gentle, and full of sparkle grace.
Make our hearts soft for compassion, brave for kindness, and bright for shining hope into someone else’s storm.
Amen.”
Fluffernutter added, “Also, help Alice not yell when her glitter glue explodes.”
I said, “That was ONE time.”
💭 Your Turn: How Will You Grow in Faith + Love?
Every heart has space to grow. Even if it’s tiny and full of wiggles.
Here are some ideas for how you can plant seeds of faith and love this week:
- 🧸 Be a quiet friend to someone feeling loud inside
- 🧼 Help with a chore without being asked (whoa, holy surprise!)
- 💌 Write a note or draw a picture for someone who needs cheering up
- 🙏 Take one extra minute to pray for someone besides yourself
- 💖 Forgive someone—even if they were a tiny bit rude
💡 “Let all that you do be done in love.” — 1 Corinthians 16:14
You don’t need a cape or a sermon to make a difference.
Just a soft heart, a strong prayer, and maybe a bunny sidekick named Fluffernutter. 🐰💕
Keep growing. Keep glowing.
With jellybeans and joy,
Alice ✨🌈📖
