Trusting God’s Invisible Work in Our Lives

A young girl with light brown wavy hair stands in a blooming wildflower field holding her white bunny, looking toward floating stepping stones that lead to a glowing cross in the sky, as the bunny holds a banner that reads “God is Working!”

Key Takeaways:

  • Gratitude helps families notice God’s work and encourage one another.
  • Faith means trusting God is still building your heart—even when you can’t see progress yet.
  • Love grows best when it includes wisdom: knowing what’s right and choosing what’s best.
  • Philippians 1:6 reminds kids: God doesn’t quit halfway through His “you” project.

Hi there, sunshine friends and sparkle beans! 🌼💫

Okay, so I have a very important announcement: Mr. Fluffernutter and I have discovered something super serious (but also fun and squishy like jelly). Ready? Here it is: God is working even when it doesn’t look like anything is happening! Like… even when your macaroni noodles keep falling off your fork or when your prayers feel like whispering into a banana. God is still doing big things—invisible, holy-sparkle-sized things!

So one day, I told Ariel I was going to “live with confidence,” and she said, “That means you trust in what God is doing.” And I said, “OH! Like when I bake invisible cupcakes and trust they’ll appear if I believe hard enough?” She said “Sort of…” but then walked away really fast. (She does that when my ideas are too genius.)

But I think I understand it now. Confidence isn’t about being the loudest or bossiest (though I am very good at both). It’s about knowing—like really really knowing in your heart and your socks—that God is painting something beautiful, even if it looks like scribbles at first. Sometimes it takes a lot of thank-yous and not-yets and “God, are you still working?” kinds of days.

So today’s blog is a magical map full of faith, love, and grateful giggles! 🎨🐾

You’ll need:

  • One stuffed bunny with heroic ears
  • A squishy heart full of “What ifs?”
  • Eyes wide open for teeny tiny blessings (like crumbs of kindness or leftover joy stuck to your elbow)

We’re gonna tumble into what it means to trust God’s timing, love people really big, and say thank you even when stuff feels backwards (like putting your shirt on upside-down… again).

Are you ready? Mr. Fluffernutter packed snacks. Let’s go jump into God’s plan like it’s a bouncy castle full of hope. 🎈💒💖

TL;DR

Paul thanks God for the Philippians and teaches families to live with confidence: God starts good work in us and keeps finishing it. Gratitude helps us notice His progress, faith keeps us steady, and love grows smarter and stronger as we follow Jesus.

💞 Being Gospel Teamwork Superstars!

Scripture

“I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now.”

— Philippians 1:3–5 (NIV)

So, get this: Paul—the super brave, travel-everywhere, write-letters-with-love guy—started his message to his friends in Philippi by saying THANK YOU! Not for cookies. Not for glitter. But for helping him share Jesus all over the place!

Daddy told us that the Philippians weren’t just cheerleaders waving pom-poms for Paul. Nope! They were in the game—real-deal helpers in God’s mission to spread the Good News. Ariel said, “Oh! Like passing the light from candle to candle!” And Daddy nodded so big, I thought his glasses might fall off.

Yaya leaned over with her wise-eyes look and said, “Fellowship means more than just hanging out. It’s when people come together to share a purpose—especially when that purpose is to shine God’s love!” Then she compared us to a symphony—where every person is like an instrument, each playing a special part to create beautiful Jesus-music together. 🎻🎺✨

That made me think: What’s my part in the Jesus symphony? Do I play the kazoo of kindness? Or the tambourine of hugs? (Fluffernutter plays triangle, obviously.)

We started making a plan—me, Ariel, and Fluffy. What if we invite our friends for a Bible & Bunny picnic? Or help fold clothes at the charity place with funny encouragement notes in the pockets? Or maybe leave little prayer scrolls under snail rocks for strangers to find? Every little kindness could be a stitch in God’s giant quilt of love!

When we serve together, we’re part of God’s team—not just helping people feel happy, but helping hearts find Jesus. And that, my friends, is the most beautiful symphony ever written.

🐇 “Even one tiny thread—like a quiet prayer or a giggle shared—can help stitch someone’s heart to God’s great love,” Fluffernutter whispered in his thoughtful voice.

💬 Let’s Wonder Together:

  • Who could you invite into your Gospel team today?
  • What’s one small way your family can help share Jesus’ love this week?
  • If you were an instrument in God’s symphony, what sound would you make?

Fun Fact

Philippi was a Roman colony, so many people there understood loyalty, teamwork, and “standing together.” Paul uses that energy for the gospel: partnership isn’t just friendship—it’s shared mission.

FAQ

How does gratitude help kids follow Jesus?

Gratitude trains your brain to notice God’s gifts and people’s efforts. That makes it easier to encourage others, pray with honesty, and stay hopeful when days feel tricky.

🧩 Trusting God’s Puzzle Plan (Even When Pieces Are Missing)

Scripture

“Being confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.”

— Philippians 1:6 (KJV)

So… guess what? God is not the kind of person who forgets to finish His projects. He doesn’t leave puzzles half-done or coloring pages with no sky. Nope! God finishes everything He starts—even when it takes a really long time or looks like a mess in the middle.

Daddy said that Paul was reminding the Philippians (and us!) that God always completes His work. Even when we feel like spaghetti noodles or silly goofballs, God is still shaping us like a sculptor working on a super special masterpiece! 🎨🧡

Ariel (who sometimes pretends she’s not listening but definitely is) asked, “Wait—so that means God’s still working on us right now?” And Daddy said, “Yes! Every day, God’s helping you grow into the person He created you to be.” I yelled, “Like a banana becoming banana bread!!” and then everyone laughed for a really long time. But I still think I’m right.

Yaya smiled and said something that made my heart feel extra snuggly:

“God’s work is never rushed or sloppy. He’s shaping your heart to look more and more like Jesus—bit by bit, piece by piece.”

Even when life feels like spilled crayons or rain on a parade, God is behind the scenes turning every scribble into a beautiful part of His story. That makes me feel safe. And hopeful. And maybe a little like dancing in circles.

Sometimes I feel messy or confused (or grumpy like a turtle in a tutu). But God still sees something amazing in me. He’s not finished yet—and He never will be until we’re all the way home with Jesus. 💒

✨ Let’s Think and Talk Together:

  • If your life were a puzzle, what would today’s piece look like?
  • What do you think God might be helping you grow in right now?
  • Have you ever had a moment where something didn’t make sense—until later, when it turned into a beautiful lesson?

Activity: “God’s Work-in-Progress” Puzzle Card

Perfect for kids who like hands-on proof that progress is real—even when it’s tiny.

  1. Fold a sheet of paper into 8 boxes (or draw 8 boxes).
  2. Title it: “God is Growing Me In…”
  3. In each box, write one growth area: kindness, patience, courage, honesty, prayer, helpfulness, gratitude, self-control.
  4. Pick one box for today and draw a simple “tiny step” you can do (example: “I can say sorry quickly”).
  5. Pray together: “Lord, keep Your good work going in me. Help me take the next small step.”

FAQ

What if I don’t feel like I’m growing?

Feelings don’t measure growth perfectly. God grows hearts in small, steady ways—like learning one new habit at a time. Keep praying, keep practicing, and trust Philippians 1:6: God keeps working.

🌱 Growing Love Like a God-Garden

Scripture

“And this I pray, that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and in all judgment.”

— Philippians 1:9 (KJV)

So I used to think love just meant hugging people and giving them extra marshmallows. But guess what? Love has a secret mission! It’s not just about being nice—it’s about learning how to be nice in the wisest, Jesus-filled way possible.

Daddy told us that Paul was praying for his friends in Philippi to have love that grows smarter—like a sunflower stretching toward the light. 🌻 Ariel said, “So, it’s about knowing the right way to love people?” And Daddy said, “Exactly! It’s love with brain sparkles and heart sparkles.”

Yaya added something that made my bunny ears (and Fluffernutter’s actual ears) stand up straight:

“Love isn’t just a feeling—it’s an action. It means doing good things that come from being close to Jesus.”

She said real love sticks around even when it’s not convenient. Like helping someone clean their muddy shoes instead of pretending you didn’t see. Or forgiving your sister even when she borrows your glitter pen again. (Looking at you, Ariel. 💖)

Sometimes our emotions feel like a messy crayon box—so many colors at once! But when we pray, God gives us a map of wisdom to help us know what to do with all those feelings. Should we share? Should we listen? Should we bring carrot cake? (Fluffernutter votes yes to cake every time.)

When we ask God to help our love grow, we’re planting a kindness garden in our hearts. One that blooms with compassion, patience, hugs, and helpfulness. Every time we choose to love someone on purpose—like really love them—we plant another seed in God’s big garden of goodness.

🐰 “Wise love knows when to hug and when to hold a hand. Sometimes love is loud. Sometimes it’s quiet. But it always comes from God,” Fluffernutter whispered through a dandelion puff.

💬 Let’s Pray and Ponder Together:

  • Can you think of a time when someone’s small action of love made a big difference in your day?
  • Have you ever had to figure out how to love someone who was being really difficult?
  • What does a “love that grows in wisdom” look like in your everyday life?

Fun Fact

“Discernment” is like a spiritual “taste test.” You learn to recognize what’s good, what’s almost-good, and what’s actually sneaky-bad—even if it looks shiny.

Kid-Safe Links:

FAQ

What does “discernment” mean for kids?

Discernment means you learn to spot what’s true and good—then choose it. Kids can practice by asking: “Does this help me love Jesus and people better?”

🎨 Alice’s Big-Hearted Faith Challenge!

Want to live with gratitude, trust, and super-sized love this week? Great! Because Fluffernutter and I made a very serious (and slightly sparkly) list of ways to grow your faith — like planting jellybeans of joy in a kindness garden! 🌼🐇✨

Here are some faith-based activities to help your heart bloom:

🌟 Count Your Thank-You Sprinkles

Tiny gratitude adds up fast—like sprinkles on everything good.

Start each day by writing three things you’re thankful for — even if one is just “no broccoli at lunch.” Gratitude helps you see all the wonderful God-things around you, even the tiny ones like ladybug naps or warm socks.

🐰 “Thankfulness is like glitter for your spirit,” says Fluffernutter. “It sticks to everything!”

💌 Share Love Like Confetti

Small kindness can turn a whole day around—yours and someone else’s.

Write a message or draw a picture for someone you love — your mom, your neighbor, your pet goldfish (if it can read). Say thank you for the way God shines through them! You never know who might need a little reminder that they’re doing a great job being God’s helper.

🙏 Trust God’s Work in YOU

God’s building something steady inside you—one brave step at a time.

Sometimes I feel like a wobbly pancake that flops when I flip. But guess what? God is still cooking something beautiful in me — and YOU too!

Scripture

“Being confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.”

— Philippians 1:6

Write this verse on a sticky note and put it somewhere happy — your mirror, your backpack, or taped to Fluffernutter’s paw like I did. Every time you see it, remember: God’s not done with you yet.

🎨 Make a “Growing in Love” Poster!

  1. Write Philippians 1:9 at the top.
  2. Draw a big heart in the center.
  3. Inside the heart, add words that show what love looks like in real life.
  4. Hang it somewhere your family can see it all week.

Draw a big ol’ heart with branches and leafy words like:

Poster Word Ideas

Wisdom 🌿 Patience 🌿 Kindness 🌿 Bravery 🌿 Pizza-Sharing Generosity

At the top, write: “God Is Growing My Love!” or “God’s Love Makes Me Grow!”

Use ALL the crayons. Add sparkles. Include doodles that remind you of Jesus’ love—like sheep, crosses, rainbows, or that one time you gave away your last fruit snack. Tape it on your wall to remind yourself how God is totally growing something special in you!

🎀 I’m going to make my poster SUPER colorful—with “God’s Love Makes Me Grow” in bold rainbow letters, flowers with giggle faces, and a sun that winks. What will yours look like? Tag me if you make one—I wanna see! 🖍️🌈💖

💬 Let’s Grow Together:

  • What does God’s love growing in your heart feel like?
  • Can you name someone in your life who helps you trust God more?
  • What creative way will YOU show gratitude and faith this week—maybe a journal, a song, or a sidewalk chalk verse?

Fun Fact

Confidence in Scripture often means “assurance” (steady trust), not “I’m the main character and nothing can touch me.” Biblical confidence is humble and anchored in God’s character.

Kid-Safe Links:

FAQ

Does confidence mean I’ll never struggle?

No—confidence means you’re not alone while you struggle. God’s work continues through hard seasons, and He teaches courage, patience, and love along the way.

🌈 The Best Reminder (Straight from Yaya’s Heart)

Before Bible time ended, Yaya told us something that made my whole heart stop twirling for a minute.

She said, “There was a time I really didn’t know what God was doing in my life.” Her voice got soft—like bedtime-story soft—and her eyes looked watery but sparkly at the same time. She told us about a season that felt confusing and stormy, when God’s plan felt super blurry and she didn’t know what was next.

“Even when I couldn’t see it,” Yaya whispered,

“God was faithfully shaping my heart and guiding me.”

That made my brain go all bouncy. Because sometimes I think if I don’t know the ending to something (like a story or a cookie recipe), then maybe something is wrong. But nope! Yaya reminded us that God works behind the scenes—like a surprise ending you didn’t see coming, but it’s PERFECT.

I started thinking about my own wobbly moments—like when I lose something special or feel too small to do big Jesus-things. And then I remembered that God is always working… even in the quiet. Even in the waiting. Even when the map looks upside down and the crayons are all broken.

✨ Trusting God’s Plan, Even When It Feels Mysterious

Sometimes the “why” is hidden for now—faith keeps walking anyway.

We don’t need to have it all figured out. (Yaya said even grown-ups don’t!) What we do need is a faith that holds on like a bunny gripping a flying kite. 🎈🐰

God’s faithfulness is like a warm hand holding yours through every twist, every tumble, every tear. He never forgets about you. He’s not done building your beautiful story—not even close.

And maybe, just maybe, those tricky moments you’re in? They’re chapters in the best story ever. You’re becoming braver, kinder, stronger, and more like Jesus with each step.

Scripture

“We walk by faith, not by sight.”

— 2 Corinthians 5:7

💬 Let’s Wonder and Grow Together:

  • Can you write or draw your “faith story” like a comic or picture book?
  • Have you ever gone through something hard and realized later that God was helping you grow?
  • What do you think God might be building in your life right now?

Fun Fact

Paul’s prayers in Philippians are incredibly practical: he asks God for love, wisdom, and a life that “chooses what’s best.” That’s everyday faith—not just Sunday faith.

Kid-Safe Links:

FAQ

What’s a simple way to practice Philippians 1 this week?

Do the “3-Part Confidence Check” daily: name one gratitude, pray one faith request, and do one act of love. Small steps add up.

🌟 Let’s Live with Gratitude, Confidence, and Bunny-Sized Love!

So, my dear sparkle-hearted friends… let’s live with big thank-you hearts for God’s amazing work, overflowing confidence in His faithfulness, and a whole bucket of love so loud it makes flowers giggle. 🌸💖

When we trust God’s plan—even if it’s squiggly or mysterious—we can wake up every day knowing He’s gently shaping us into someone more like Jesus. Even when life feels like a whooshy whirlwind (like socks in a dryer), we can pause… and look around. 👀

✨ “Every hug, every giggle, every tiny leaf that waves hello—is God’s way of reminding you He’s right here,” Fluffernutter whispered while munching on a gratitude-shaped cookie.

💫 Finding Joy in the Little Blessings

Joy loves hiding in tiny places—go treasure-hunting for it.

Look at the simple stuff—the warm hug from someone you love, the sound of birds playing tag in the trees, or your sister’s silly joke that makes you snort lemonade. These are God’s everyday love notes. Don’t miss them!

Even when life feels hard or upside-down, we can hold joy like a glowing flashlight. Shine it in how you talk, how you share, and how you treat your friends. Your joy might light up someone else’s whole day!

Together, we can spread sunshine like peanut butter—sticky, sweet, and impossible to ignore. 🌞🥜✨

With fluff and faith,
Alice (and Mr. Fluffernutter!) 🐰💕

P.S. Fluffernutter says, “God’s faithfulness is sweeter than carrot cake—and even more satisfying!” 🥕🎂
So let’s taste and see the sweet stuff God is doing… and share it like we share snacks at a picnic. BIG. MESSY. WITH LOVE.
