“Hey Fluffernutter,” I whispered this morning while squishing pancakes into tiny heart shapes, “do you think Timothy had a superhero cape under his Bible robe?”
Fluffernutter blinked his soft bunny eyes very seriously. “Only the fluffiest kind,” he said. “Woven with kindness, stitched with service, and totally invisible to grumpy people.”
That made me wiggle with excitement, because guess what?! I just learned about two real-life super servants from the Bible—Timothy and Epaphroditus (his name sounds like a sneeze, but don’t tell him I said that). These two didn’t need laser eyes or flying boots—they had something even better. They were faithful. That means they showed up when it mattered, helped when no one asked, and loved people like Jesus would—even if their shoes got muddy or their snack breaks got skipped!
Fluffernutter says being a faithful servant is like being part of God’s Secret Kindness Squad. You do your best, even in the small stuff—like sharing your last jellybean or praying for a friend with a scraped knee. It’s not about sparkle capes or golden trophies. It’s about hearts that shine bright with love, even when nobody’s watching.
So today, I’m going to tell you all about these two faithful friends from Philippians 2. Their story might not have dragons or glittery castles (boo!), but it does have brave love, deep friendship, and a message just for us kids—yes, even us with sticky fingers and backpacks full of crayon crumbs.
Are you ready? Fluffernutter’s already packed his Faithful Servant Adventure Kit (mostly filled with stickers and Bible scrolls). Let’s hop into the story and discover what it really means to be faithful… one bunny step at a time! 🐰💛✨

🐰 Timothy’s Superpower: Caring Like Jesus!
Mr. Fluffernutter and I had a big chat today while we were snuggled under my polka-dot blanket. I asked him, “Do you think Timothy had a magical heart radar? One that beeped every time someone needed help?”
He wiggled his whiskers and said, “Nope. Even better. He had a heart full of Jesus-love that made him the best at caring for others—without needing any blinking lights!”
💛 The Bible says:
“I have no one else like him, who will show genuine concern for your welfare.” — Philippians 2:20
During Bible time, Daddy told us that Paul really loved Timothy because he wasn’t just thinking about himself—he was focused on other people’s hearts! Ariel wrinkled her forehead and said, “So, Timothy didn’t try to be the best. He just tried to be kindest?”
Daddy nodded. “Exactly. He put Jesus first, then helped others next. That’s what made him a truly faithful servant.”
Yaya smiled and said, “Caring for others is like being a shepherd. You don’t run ahead—you stay with your flock and protect them with love.”
🎀 Little Things Are Big Things!
That made me think… maybe I can be like Timothy too! Not with a shepherd’s stick (though I do have a pink sparkly baton), but with my ears, hands, and hugs.
💡 Maybe caring is…
- Sharing my crayons without growling.
- Letting my sister pick the bedtime story (even if it’s the one with talking sandwiches again).
- Listening really big when someone’s feeling small.
Every time we show love in little ways, we’re stitching tiny kindness patches into God’s giant quilt of love. One smile, one kind word, one gentle helper hand—and poof! You’re shining Jesus right into someone’s day!
“Each act of kindness is like a bunny hop toward Heaven’s heart.” — Mr. Fluffernutter

What’s one small way you could show Jesus’ love to someone today?

🦋 Epaphroditus and the Superpower of Sacrificial Service
This part of the Bible made my eyebrows go whoooop! straight up like bunny ears.
“Because for the work of Christ he was nigh unto death, not regarding his life, to supply your lack of service toward me.” — Philippians 2:30
I looked at Fluffernutter and asked, “Wait, did Epaphroditus seriously keep helping Paul even though he was almost squashed-flat sick?”
Fluffernutter nodded with a little sigh and said, “He was braver than a knight riding a banana peel dragon into battle. All for the love of Jesus.”
Daddy explained that Epaphroditus didn’t stop serving, even when his body felt like mashed potatoes. He traveled, helped, prayed, and encouraged Paul—even when his own health was falling apart. He gave his everything for the Gospel. That’s what sacrificial service looks like: loving big, even when it costs you something.
🌟 When Love Looks Like Sacrifice
Yaya leaned in and told us something beautiful:
“Serving Jesus isn’t always easy. Sometimes it means giving up our comfort, our time, or our favorite snacks to help others. But when we do it with love, it shines like a bright lantern in God’s Kingdom.”
She said each loving sacrifice makes ripples—like when you drop a gumdrop in the bathtub (Oops. That was me. Sorry, Yaya). The ripples keep going. Every time we choose to serve someone, even when we’re tired or scared or kinda cranky, God uses it for something beautiful and big.
“Sacrificial love doesn’t need sparkles. It is the sparkle.” — Mr. Fluffernutter
💗 When Service Feels Hard (But Worth It)
That made me think… Sometimes it’s easy to serve when things are fun—like making cookies or helping decorate church. But what about when it’s hard? Like cleaning when you’d rather build a LEGO zoo? Or comforting someone who’s sad when you don’t know what to say?
Maybe that’s where the real superhero stuff happens—right in the hard places.
God gives us strength to love anyway. Just like He did for Epaphroditus. Our hard moments can turn into holy moments when we give them back to Him.

Can you think of a time when serving someone else felt difficult—but you did it anyway?
What’s something small you could give up this week to love like Jesus?

🎖️ Celebrating God’s Quiet Heroes: Honoring Faithful Servants
Mr. Fluffernutter and I were having a tea party (with invisible raspberry muffins and real apple juice), and I whispered, “Do you think Epaphroditus ever got a shiny trophy?”
Fluffernutter sipped politely and said, “Nope. But Paul gave him something even better—honor.”
💌 The Bible says:
“Welcome him in the Lord with great joy, and honor people like him.” — Philippians 2:29
Daddy told us that Paul really wanted the Philippians to celebrate Epaphroditus—not with confetti cannons (though that would be fun), but with joyful hearts that said, “Thank you!” Ariel nodded and said, “So, we should thank people who serve?” and Daddy said, “Yes! When we honor those who serve with love, we’re showing God that we see their hearts.”
🌷 Watering Their Faith With Gratitude
Yaya said something beautiful:
“Honoring others is like watering a plant. When you say thank you, you help their faith grow stronger.”
And I imagined Epaphroditus turning into a happy little flower just because someone noticed his kindness. 🌼
She said when we celebrate someone who gives of themselves—like the lady at church who bakes all the banana bread or the teacher who prays for her students—it lifts their hearts and teaches us how to serve with joy too!
“Faithful service isn’t quiet to God—it echoes like a giggle in Heaven.” — Mr. Fluffernutter
🌟 Make Kindness Loud
That made me think… we don’t need golden medals or sparkly parades to honor people. A handmade card. A whispered “thank you.” A big hug with squishy arms.
Those things matter.
When we celebrate faithful servants, we’re saying, “I see you. God sees you. And your love is BIG.” And guess what? It makes others want to join in, too! Like a chain reaction of giggles and goodness.
Imagine a world where everyone gets noticed—not for being the loudest, but for being the most loving. That’s the kind of place I want to live in. One where even bunny-sized helpers get confetti hearts and Jesus-sized hugs.

🐰 Alice’s Faith Challenge: Be a Helper, a Hero, and a Hug-Giver!
Okay, friends! Want to be like Timothy and Epaphroditus this week? (Fluffernutter says YES with a mighty bunny fist bump! 🐾)
Here’s your Faithful Servant Challenge — a very serious mission filled with love, glitter, and maybe a little bit of jellybean bravery.
💖 Serve Others with Love
Look for sneaky ways to show love around your house, church, or school. It could be:
- Cleaning up toys (without being asked!)
- Holding the door with a superhero smile
- Helping your little sibling, even if they’re sticky
Every tiny act of love is like planting seed-sprinkles of kindness — and soon, they bloom into joy-flowers that brighten someone’s whole day!
“When we serve others, our hearts do happy dances!” — Mr. Fluffernutter
🎁 Make a Sacrifice for Someone Else
This one is tough but super powerful. Give up something fun on purpose to help someone:
- Skip your favorite cartoon to help with dinner
- Let someone else have the last cookie (ouch, I know!)
- Share your favorite toy when you’d rather not
That’s called sacrificial love. Jesus did it first. Epaphroditus followed. And now… so can we!
“Sacrifices are like love-gifts wrapped in invisible bows that make hearts shine.” — Alice (and probably Fluffernutter too)
✍️ Honor Someone Who Serves
Pick someone who helps others all the time—like a Sunday school teacher, pastor, lunch lady, or your grandma—and celebrate them!
- Make a thank-you card
- Draw a picture of their kindness in action
- Tell them what they mean to you with a great big hug and maybe sparkly stickers
I’m making a card for my Sunday school teacher to say, “THANK YOU for helping me learn about Jesus (and for always having gummy bears in your purse).”

Who will you honor this week with a note, a prayer, or a joyful surprise?
How can your family make serving others with love a fun adventure together?

🌈 The Best Reminder: Love Is a Verb (and Sometimes a Hug)
Before we closed our Bible time, Yaya told us a super-heart-thumpy story about a time she served people when things were really, really hard. Like “mud in your shoes, tears in your eyes, and still smiling” kind of hard.
She said,
“When I chose to serve with joy, even in tough moments, God turned it into something beautiful. My heart grew, and so did the love around me.” — Yaya
Whoa. I looked at Fluffernutter, and he looked at me, and we both whispered, “That’s what real heroes do.”
🕊️ When Serving Feels Like a Stretch… But Grows You Taller
That story made my tummy feel warm and my heart feel twirly. Because guess what? Serving with joy isn’t just about helping others—it’s a secret way to grow closer to Jesus!
When we choose to love and serve—even when we’d rather be doing something else—we become little mirrors reflecting God’s love sparkles into the world!
💡 I imagined every act of service like a mirror-tile on God’s disco ball of grace. And every time we serve, the world gets a bit shinier.
“When you serve with love, you’re not just doing a chore—you’re dancing with Jesus.” — Mr. Fluffernutter
🌟 Serving = Growing + Glowing
Sometimes serving is hard. But that’s where the magic happens—not the rabbit-out-of-a-hat kind, but the heart-growing, faith-building kind.
- You learn patience when your little brother spills glue on your Bible craft.
- You learn compassion when someone feels left out and you sit beside them.
- You learn that love is an action, not just a fuzzy feeling.
Just like Timothy and Epaphroditus, when we love big and serve boldly, we become part of God’s super-special kindness crew.
So next time you pick up trash, share your snack, or help someone without being asked, remember: You’re not just doing good—you’re becoming more like Jesus.

Has there ever been a time when you served someone and you ended up feeling blessed too?
How do you think serving with joy changes the way we see the world?

🎀 Let’s Be Faithful Servants Together!
So friends, let’s do this together:
- Let’s serve others with love (even when they forget to say thank you).
- Let’s make little sacrifices that shine like sparkles for Jesus.
- Let’s honor the helpers around us—the quiet heroes who reflect God’s heart.
When we live like Timothy and Epaphroditus, we become walking love-notes from God, sharing kindness, courage, and compassion with the whole wide world!
“Serving with love brings glory to God and hugs to everyone around you!” — Mr. Fluffernutter
Every kind action, every helper’s hug, every sacrifice made with joy becomes part of God’s beautiful story. We’re not just kids—we’re faithful servants in training (with bunny sidekicks and possibly a few jellybean breaks along the way).
With bunny-sized love,
Alice (and Mr. Fluffernutter!) 🐰💕
P.S. Mr. Fluffernutter says:
🧁 “Serving with love is sweeter than carrot cake—and just as filling for your soul!” 🥕✨
