Hi friends! Ariel here! 💕And guess what? Today I get to share something super inspiring that my family and I learned from the Bible—Matthew chapters 24 and 25!

These chapters are all about something big and exciting:

Jesus is coming back! 🎉🙌

(According to the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, “Christ’s second coming won’t be hidden or secret… History as we know it will come to an end, and a new day will dawn.”)

But it’s not just about what happens in the future. Jesus also teaches us how we should live right now—with faith, love, and readiness in our hearts, even when life feels tough or uncertain.

So, what does that look like?

Well, Jesus tells us:

  • There will be signs to watch for 🌍
  • We need to be kind and faithful every day 💖

And no one knows the exact time He’ll return—so we have to stay ready! ⏰

Alice said, “It’s like waiting for a super special guest—you don’t know when they’ll arrive, but you want to be ready and excited when they do!”

Exactly! 🌈

So let’s dive into this amazing story together and discover how we can shine with hope, live like we’re ready, and be a light in the world every single day. 🕊️✨

TL;DR:

Jesus calls families toward steady hope and daily readiness. Parables invite lamps filled, talents used, and kindness shared—faith moving from belief to loving action.

The Mystery of the End Times 🕯️🎉⏳

Our adventure started with a question that had been bouncing around in my brain:

“How will we know when Jesus is coming back?”

I asked Daddy—and he smiled gently and said,

“Jesus didn’t give us an exact time. But He gave us signs to watch for… and told us to always be ready.” ⌛

That answer made me stop and think.

Sometimes life feels confusing or uncertain—but knowing that Jesus is coming back gives us something solid to hold on to. His promise is like a giant anchor that keeps our hearts steady, even when the world feels wobbly. ⚓💛

Then Alice—hugging Mr. Fluffernutter like she always does—giggled and said,

“So it’s like waiting for a surprise party! You don’t know when it’ll happen, but you still get excited and ready anyway!”

And honestly… she nailed it. 🎁🎊

Waiting for Jesus is just like that—an amazing surprise that fills each day with joy and hope.

It’s not about sitting around and doing nothing.

It’s about getting ready!

Like:

  • Filling our hearts with love
  • Being kind to everyone
  • Helping when we can
  • Spending time with God 🕊️

When we do those things, we’re not just waiting—we’re preparing for the greatest reunion ever.

Even though we don’t know exactly when Jesus will return, we can still wake up every day with a big smile and a full heart.

Because each moment is a new chance to shine His light, share His love, and get a little closer to that heavenly celebration. 🌈✨

So don’t worry about dates or times. Just live today with hope, kindness, and faith—because the best surprise of all is coming. And we want to be so ready! (Read more about how we’re preparing our hearts in faith and hope here!)

Signs of the Times 🌍⚓🌟

While reading Matthew 24, I came across some pretty big things Jesus talked about—stuff like earthquakes, wars, famines, and even people pretending to be Him! 😮

Jesus called these the “beginning of sorrows” (Matthew 24:8), and I had to ask Yaya,

“Why does Jesus talk about all these hard things? Isn’t it kind of scary?”

Yaya looked at me gently and said, “Jesus doesn’t want us to be afraid—He wants us to be ready. These signs are like reminders that help us stay close to Him!” As one children’s ministry lesson beautifully explains: “only God knows what time He’s thinking of to send Jesus back.” Signs show us what matters most and help us trust in His promises every single day.”

That made me feel a little braver. 💛

Alice, holding Mr. Fluffernutter, closed her eyes and said,

“I imagine the world like a stormy sea, and Jesus is standing right in the middle, helping everyone get to safety!”

“Exactly,” said Yaya. “Jesus is our anchor in the storm. Even when the world feels wild and shaky, He never changes. His love is what holds us steady.” ⚓🕊️

Then she said something really cool:

“These tough times? They actually help our faith grow stronger. Just like gold gets brighter and shinier in the fire, our hearts become stronger when we go through hard stuff with Jesus beside us.”

I loved that. It means even our hardest days have purpose. 💡

Alice asked, “So our struggles can help other people too?”

Yaya nodded. “Yes! When we go through hard things and still hold on to hope, we can show others the light of Jesus. Instead of being afraid, we can choose to share peace, love, and faith.”

That made me think:

Maybe the world doesn’t have to feel so scary… if I remember that Jesus is always with me.

Here’s what I’m going to do:

  • Stay close to Jesus every day 🙏
  • Look for ways to shine His light, even when things feel dark 💡
  • Remind my friends that Jesus brings hope—even during storms 💖

Because the signs of the times aren’t meant to make us afraid…

They’re meant to help us live with courage, compassion, and confidence in God’s promises! 🌈

The Glorious Return ☁️👑🎺

One of the most exciting things Jesus ever promised is this:

He’s coming back! 🌟

In Matthew 24:30, Jesus said,

“And they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.”

When I read that, I turned to Daddy and asked,

“WHAT will it be like when Jesus comes back?!”

Daddy smiled big and said,

“Oh, Ariel… it will be more wonderful than anything we’ve ever seen. Jesus will come with light, love, and joy—and for everyone who’s been watching and waiting, it will feel like the biggest, happiest celebration ever!”

I couldn’t stop imagining it… and neither could Alice!

She said, “I think Jesus will ride a super-bright cloud, and angels will be flying and singing all around Him!” 🎶☁️✨

“That’s the BEST homecoming ever,” she giggled, hugging Mr. Fluffernutter.

And honestly? She’s right. 💛

I pictured the sky glowing with golden light, the clouds parting, and Jesus shining brighter than the sun, filling the world with peace and love. All the sadness, fear, and pain—gone! Just like that.

It won’t just be beautiful. It will be life-changing:

  • Wars will stop
  • Tears will disappear
  • And every heart will feel safe and happy again 💖

It’s not just the end of something—it’s the beginning of something perfect. 🎉

And while we wait, we don’t just sit still.

We live with love!

We help others, stay hopeful, and fill our days with kindness and faith.

Because Jesus’ return isn’t just about what’s coming—it helps us live better right now.

It reminds us:

  • To love BIG
  • To forgive quickly
  • To shine our light every day 🕯️

Alice said, “So even if we don’t know when He’s coming, we can live like we’re ready today.”

Yes! Exactly. That’s the adventure of faith.

Let’s keep our hearts full of joy, our eyes watching the skies, and our lamps glowing bright—
because when Jesus comes back, we’ll be ready to welcome Him with HUGE smiles and happy hearts! ☁️👑💛

Living in Readiness ⏰🕯️💖

One of my favorite parts of Matthew 24 is when Jesus says something really important:

“Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.”
(Matthew 24:42)

That verse made me stop and think.

So I turned to Yaya and asked,

“How do we get ready for something when we don’t know when it’s going to happen?”

Yaya smiled and said something super wise:

“Being ready doesn’t mean knowing the time. It means living every day with love, kindness, and faith in your heart.” 💛

Wow. That made so much sense!

It’s kind of like this:

  • You don’t wait until game day to practice, right? 🏀
  • Or until your friends come over to clean your room! 🧹

You get ready early—and stay ready—so when the big moment comes, you’re all set! 🙌

That’s what it’s like with Jesus. We don’t know exactly when He’ll come back, but we DO know how to live today in a way that makes Him smile.

Yaya told us, “Every time you choose love, help someone, or trust God, you’re getting ready.”
And you know what? Even the little things matter.

So here’s how I’m going to stay ready—and maybe you can too!

💡 Ways Kids Can Stay Ready for Jesus

  • Show love even when it’s hard
  • Pray each day, even just a short “thank You” 🙏
  • Help someone without being asked 🫂
  • Say kind things and forgive fast 💬
  • Trust God when stuff gets tricky

Alice said, “So being ready is like… living like Jesus is coming over today!”

YES. 🎉

And when we do that, we’re not just waiting—we’re living with joy and purpose.

Every kind action, every prayer, every smile—it all counts. 💖

It’s how we shine His light in the world. And when Jesus comes back, we’ll be ready with glowing lamps and open arms.

So let’s keep living with faith, loving BIG, and getting our hearts ready—
because every day is one day closer to the greatest reunion ever! ☁️🕊️

Fun Fact: Kindness multiplies influence—one caring choice often inspires follow-up kindness across a whole classroom or church group.

Living in Hope and Readiness 💛🕯️🎉

After learning all about Jesus’ amazing promises in Matthew 24 and 25, I wanted to know something super important:

How can I live ready for Jesus every day?

Well, guess what? There are simple and fun ways we can live with faith, hope, and love while we wait for His return!

Let me show you what I learned:

🙏 Stay Close to God

Think of your friendship with Jesus like a plant—you’ve got to water it every day! 🌱

When you:

  • Pray in the morning (even just “Hi God!” counts!)
  • Read your Bible or ask a grown-up to read it with you 📖
  • Talk to Him about your day 💬

—you’re getting closer and closer to His heart.

Alice said, “It’s like charging my kindness battery!” ⚡💖

The more time you spend with God, the more peaceful, strong, and full of light you’ll feel. He helps us handle the tough stuff and make the best choices!

💖 Serve with Love

This part is AWESOME:
When we help others, we’re showing Jesus’ love to the world!

Try this:

  • Share your toys or lunch 🧃
  • Smile at someone who looks sad 😊
  • Write a kind note for your teacher or a friend 📝
  • Help your grown-up without being asked 🫂

Every time you do something loving, you’re being a bright light in someone’s day. And that’s exactly what Jesus wants us to be!

🌈 Live with Joy and Hope

Here’s my favorite part!
Jesus is coming back—and we don’t know when—but that just makes life even more exciting! 🎉☁️👑

We can live each day like we’re waiting for the best party ever:

  • Dance a little more
  • Laugh a little louder
  • Tell others about Jesus
  • And remember His promises are always true!

When you live with hope, people around you will feel it too—and they’ll want to know what makes your heart so full. 💛

So let’s live like this:

  • Close to Jesus
  • Kind to others
  • Full of joy while we wait

Because when He comes, we’ll be ready, shining, and smiling!

That’s what it means to live in hope and readiness. 🕯️✨

  • With big faith 🙏
  • With hearts full of love 💖
  • And with eyes wide open, always ready to shine 🕯️

Every verse reminds us that we’re part of something amazing. Jesus gave each of us special gifts—like our time, our talents, and even our kindness—and He wants us to use those gifts to help others and show His love.
